Welcome to another Together In Mamahood interview where today we'll be listening to Jess from the prosecco mum spill the tea/prosecco about her experiences being mum. There are parts to this interview which I'm sure will have you laughing. I actually lolled a few times when reading this back from Jess, so I hope you guys love it as much as I do.

Together In Mamahood interview.
1. What’s one thing you thought you’d never do as a parent, but have done since becoming a mum?
As a child I was literally wrapped in cotton wool by my parents, so I automatically thought I'd be the same and never let them out of my sight. But it couldn't be further from the truth! I'm a better mama when I've been away from them and had my own time.
Of course the pre-mum me would never stick her children in front of a screen, let them have a dummy, a snotty nose or even contemplate a time when her children would even think about tantrumming in public places. I can confirm that mum was a bit of a tw*t!
2. What’s the hardest thing about being a mum?
Oh my god, where do I begin? The juggle, the mum guilt, the overwhelm, the relentlessness of my name being called every five seconds, the dent on my finances keeping two human dustbins in snacks and the school admin, THAT is a full time job of its own.
3. How much of your parenting journey do you share online?
I'm so up and down with it. I share parts of it, mostly on IG but I'm determined to get my blog up and running and be more consistent with that. As the kids grow up, we're learning new things about our family dynamics and I'm keen to share that - as well as our days out and travel.
4. Tell me about something which has surprised you about motherhood?
It does come naturally. I mean, I am not maternal in the slightest but I have managed to keep two humans alive... Shame the same can't be said for my poor plants!
School admin - Now THAT is a full time job.
Jess - Prosecco mum
5. Do you think social media portrays motherhood correctly?
Parts of it. People will always show the highlights, the sparkly bits - which I love, but sometimes it's just not relatable. It is hard to strike a balance though, as you get people saying it's too much if you're positive and on the other hand, told you're ungrateful if you're being negative.
6. Tell me about your favourite motherhood memory?
It has to be when Sofia met Arlo when he was born. She came into hospital clutching the toy that she'd brought for him and couldn't wait to show him. It was such a special moment for me.
There have been so many though, sometimes the simple, ordinary moments are the best and fill my happy mama cup.
7. How have you changed since becoming a mum?
Massively. I realise how selfish I am/was. I still really crave time by myself, in silence. Which are few and far between. The spontaneity of life goes slightly when there's children involved. Being a mum has changed me in so many ways, but I wouldn't change them for anything!
8. Tell me about your proudest mum moment?
In amongst the chaos, screaming and shouting of our house, there are so many proud moments that I really can't give just one. Most recently, Sofia facing her fears and heading off on a 3 night Brownie 'pack holiday' (with no communication allowed) The pandemic has thrown us all out a little bit and I know how nervous she was to go - she had many cries in the lead up to it but on the day she did her best 'brave Lion' and flew our family nest for a few days.
We haven't had the easiest year, until he sadly passed away we were caring for Sofia and Arlo's uncle at our home. They were pushed to the side often, they were spontaneously picked up from school by people who weren't us and to be honest they weren't our number one priorities for a few months but they adapted and understood that Tom needed us.
Overall, I'm proud that both of the kids are happy, kind, inclusive and caring. Maybe not to each other but definitely with their friends!

9. What are you most looking forward to in the future for your children?
I'm just looking forward to watching them further grow into independent little people. I can't wait to see what they do, what styles they go for, what job they apply for, what countries they visit, if they stay in further education or go straight into the world of work. [I'm tearing up writing this thinking of them as big people!]
We are going away for six weeks in the Summer and on a personal level I am really looking forward to the reset. To make the kids centre of our worlds, to have carefree days out with nothing else to focus on aside from having fun and no schedules!
10. Who are your favourite mothers to follow on Instagram?
There are so many, but the ones who I look out for in stories are....
- Claire - @clairemacblog obviously!
- Chernice - @foreverchasingboys
- Emma - @outnumbered_boy_mama
- Emma - @emmafaith_x
- Chloe - @chloeroles
- Katie - @katieflossblog

I loved this interview. It's very comforting to know that motherhood and parenting does come naturally even to those who aren't maternal. I'm not particularly maternal but I do want kids!
I loved reading Jess's interview, I like how she talked about how parenting does come naturally even if you don't feel particularly maternal x

Can relate to everything in Point 2!
However, my little boy didn't get quite the same welcome from his elder sister when we brought him home.
It was more a case of 'Who's this interloper pushing me out of the limelight?'
Thankfully, they're thick as thieves now and love nothing more than causing havoc together.
Great interview! I always said I'd never do screen time either but there are just some days I NEED to get a few things done and it's the only way!
