With Christmas fast approaching I'm donning my green hat and playing your very own personal elf! Today I've got a Christmas gift guide for those pesky toddlers in your lives.

Mine has been particularly good this year, so I'll be taking inspiration from this list myself! Here are 10 perfect Christmas gifts for toddlers.

1. Board Books.

If your toddler's an avid reader like mine then board books are going to make an amazing Christmas gift. We're big Julia Donaldson fans in our house & have been intentionally building our collection over the last year or so. We buy the board books as we feel they're much better quality and will stand the test of time... Great for passing down! Plus, I think they actually look better. We've got Stick Man & Superworm on our Christmas list this year.

2. Fancy dress.

My toddler loves dressing up! It's something which has only just recently started happening, but she loves donning a princess dress or mermaid costume. We pick ours up in B&M as we find they're the most affordable, and they have a pretty decent selection. I think we're going to be buying the doctors outfit next for our little one. She really liked that one last time we went in.

3. Mud kitchen.

Okay, so this might not be weather appropriate right now, but hear me out... If you want a bit of peace and quiet, get your toddler a mud kitchen. I've found that they're the ultimate art of distraction! But they're also great because they're so massively educational for the children too. Mud kitchens are amazing for developing your wee ones imagination and encouraging different aspects of role play.

4. Jigsaw puzzles.

Jigsaw puzzles are always going to make great Christmas gifts for toddlers, but I think they're great gifts for parents too. They don't take up too much space, can easily be stored and still provide hours of entertainment for your little ones. They're a win win! This year we've gone for the kids dinosaur puzzle from Jaques of London. My toddler is a bit of a dino enthusiast so I know she's going to love this one.

5. Yoto audio player.

I don't know if it's because I surround myself with parents to similar aged children as mine, but I've seen the Yoto audio players plastered everywhere this year. There are a few different brands on the market similar to Yoto, but I've found these to be the most affordable and better value for money. The Yoto audio players will open up a world of imagination for your little ones. Not only are they amazing story tellers but they're great for bed time too with white noise and a night light.

6. Dolls house.

A dolls house is going to be great Christmas gift for your toddler this year. They open up a world of imagination, prompting your little one to play make believe and expand their imaginations. Understandably dolls houses are quite large presents and can be on the expensive side, so why not check out Facebook market place? Offer some second hand love to a really well made dolls house this Christmas.

7. Cress head kits.

I don't know how random this one is, but I know for sure that my toddler would love a cress head kit for Christmas. We've been planting seeds and growing vegetables over the last month or so and she loves (as do I) watching them grow. By giving her her own cress head kit it will spark independence and give her something really cool to look after - Plus it's a little less commitment than a pet right?

8. Magnetic fishing.

I've been fancying buying my daughter a magnetic fishing game for such a long time now. I know she'd absolutely love it & I know it'd provide so much entertainment for her. For such a simple game it's actually highly educational too, prompting development of concentration and fine motor skills.

9. Bike.

I'd love to get my little girl a retro looking pale pink, brown leather seated bike with a wicker basket for Christmas this year. What she's asked for is something a little less aesthetically pleasing. My daughters main present this year will be a bike of her choosing. A bright pink bike, with sparkly tassels, a pink basket and a bell! I can't wait to see her face light up when she opens it.

10. Tablet.

A great techy Christmas gift for your toddler is a tablet. I know a lot of parents are big fans of the Amazon Fire HD because of its durability, parental control and the ability to limit screen time - A controversial topic! A variety of age appropriate books and games can be downloaded on the tablet providing hours of entertainment for your wee ones.

What do you think to this selection of Christmas gifts for toddlers? I initially thought finding toys for three year olds, or toddler age would be quite difficult as they're a bit on an in-between age but there's actually so much out there! It'll be difficult to stick to budget this year! Eeep!
