The third trimester can often be described as hardest. I'm not denying the difficulties that come in the final weeks of pregnancy as you're getting ready to have a baby. It can be really tough! But there will be good times too! Today I want to give you some quick sure fire ways to feel good in your third trimester.

How to feel good in your third trimester.
1. Indulge in beauty treatments you can actually indulge in.
There aren't that many beauty treatments you can indulge in whilst pregnant, especially more so towards the end. So why not think about the treatments you can indulge in.
Having a manicure or pedicure (or both) could be a real mood booster. I've recently painted my nails for the first time in around two years and it's made me feel really great in my third trimester. It's nice to have a bit of the 'old me' during my third trimester.
Reflexology has also been advised to me as way to feel good about yourself in your third trimester. It's relaxing attributes can ease stress, help with any aches and make you feel energised, something that can be so beneficial in the last few weeks of pregnancy.
2. Commemorate your amazing body with a maternity photoshoot.
Although I haven't documented my second pregnancy as much as the first, I have done a maternity shoot this time around again. I'm not the most body confident gal, but I think it's a maternity shoot is a sure fire way to feel good in your third trimester.
Whether you go for a professional maternity photoshoot or do something a bit more DIY at home like myself, having photos to look back at the amazing thing your body's doing is a must! For ourselves, we're unsure as to whether we'll be doing this again so I really want to make the most of the final few weeks of this pregnancy. I want to celebrate what my body's doing, and not to toot my own horn, but I think I look blooming fantastic!
So go on, take some commemorative shots of your bump, it'll make you feel good in your third trimester... So so good!

3. Invest in a good nights sleep.
Sleep is something I'm starting to struggle with now in my third trimester. I did in my last pregnancy too, but I forgot just how bad pregnancy insomnia is. Investing in a great sleeping routine can be so beneficial during your third trimester.
Making your bed as homely and cosy as possible may sound like a simple task, but it really works. Although I sometimes struggle drifting off, getting into a cosy, clean, fluffed up bed makes me feel instantly calm. I can feel the pressures of the day being released from my body.
If you're looking for specific products, lavender and chamomile are approved essential oils that can be used during pregnancy. Pillow sprays with these oils in could be a great, indulgent way for gaining a good nights sleep.
A good nights sleep is so underrated, but it's the best way to feel good in your third trimester!
4. Get your hair done.
Although dying hair during pregnancy can be a bit taboo (I'm neither for or against), why not make yourself feel good in your third trimester by getting a new cut.
Getting your hair done doesn't have to be a drastic change, it could be something as simple as going for a blow dry or having a deep condition doing. If you're anything like me there's no way you'll be able to create the same look or feeling you'd get from a hairdressers..
I'm booked in with my hairdresser in a couple of weeks and after a year of not having anything done to my locks (thanks covid) I'm so excited! I can't wait for that feeling a hair transformation brings. I can't wait to feel like my sassy self again!
5. Keep a note of all the positives the third trimester brings.
Feeling good in your third trimester isn't all about appearances. It's a feeling! It's so much more that what's portrayed on the outside. So why not think about what's going on, on the inside. (Although maybe not too much, because if you're anything like me, it still kind of freaks you out a bit).
Make a third trimester positivity jar with hand written notes in about all the positive things you're thinking. Whenever you're feeling a bit down, or like the last few weeks feel like years, take a note out and really remember what you and your body is doing!
Keeping a mantra of positivity is a simple, yet really effective way to feel good in your third trimester. It's stripping everything back and remembering that what you're doing is amazing and you should feel blooming good about it!

So there's my five tips on how to feel good in your third trimester. I really hope they've been helpful to you, they certainly have for me. If we are lucky enough to ever experience this again I'll be certainly coming back to this post, especially the last pointer, to really commemorate the amazing thing our pregnant bodies are doing.

Hi Claire,
We haven't had kids. However, I should imagine that you want to do absolutely everything that helps make things a little easier on you. In relation to your point about getting a good night's sleep, it may be worth thinking about getting a new mattress if you haven't had one for a while - they keep making advances in mattress design and there is a pretty good range to choose from these days..
Nearly there!
That's a good point! They say you should change it every 8 years don't they. We're probably coming up to that now to be honest. Eeep! X
These tips are amazing and I absolutely love these photos of you!
I had my hair done last week and it has definitely made a difference, just need to get some more sleep! xx
OMG, first off, you look stunning! I hope to look this great in my third too! I loved this and how you emphasize pampering yourself before the baby! I'm definitely for it and will be doing this too. Thanks for sharing, Claire x
