Durham Heritage Coast

A short train journey from Newcastle will bring you to the stunning Durham Heritage Coast; an area known for its natural beauty and remarkable coastal trails. With a diverse walking experience boasting colourful flora, rugged cliffs, and rolling dunes, this coastline is a local favourite that hundreds of new hikers seem to discover every year. Bamburgh Beach and Castle

The route meanders gently along the coast, offering stunning views of the North Sea and the many quaint villages along the way. The path takes you through a variety of landscapes, including plenty of sandy beaches and grassy dunes, leading to the historic village of Warkworth, dominated by its magnificent medieval castle. You’ll probably find a handful of incredibly quaint and cosy pubs along the way as well!
