Why new parents need Onoco, the baby and toddler app.

I entered Motherhood rather naively... Said every parent ever! What I mean however is that when my daughter was born I didn't realise how much information I'd have to carry & retain, especially on so little sleep. I was constantly asked how many feeds she'd had & if it was from both boobs? How many dirty nappies she'd gone through? How many times she'd nap and how long for. It was a lot! I'm also pregnant again & due baby number two in September which means I'll then be able to experience the app from birth first hand. My Onoco review as Mum to a 2 year old toddler.

I've told you a little about why new parents need Onoco. Now I'm going to give you my feedback on the app as a Mum to a two year old toddler.

As I previously mentioned I didn't really have a great deal of knowledge on the EYFS learning & development framework. We regularly track our babies developmental milestones however after they learn to walk things seem to go by the wayside. So for me, understanding my daughters mental & physical developments as a toddler has been really beneficial. There've been a few times where my Husband & I have questioned our daughters interactions not understanding whether it's a 'toddler thing' or a 'covid thing'... Let's just say that Onoco has definitely put my mind at ease!

The learning journey section of the app has given me reassurance as well as reasons to why my daughter behaves and interacts the way she does. The 17 aspects of learning all have checklists for my daughters development. My 27 month old toddler falls between 22 - 36 months so the app also gives me an idea of what I can expect to come over the next year.

My Onoco review as a Mum to be.

The plan section on the app not only allows you to note down and help form a routine with your new baby, but it also allows you to set reminders. This may sound unnecessary, however as an 'experienced mum' (using that term very loosely) I know how hard it can be in the early days to keep up with feeds or changes. It'd also be useful to set reminders for yourself. In the newborn days myself and my Husband had to remind each other to eat or even brush our teeth some days. A gentle notification would have been so beneficial to both of us back then.

I love the safety aspect Onoco provides. There's an emergency protocol section, which as Onoco can be shared amongst parents & caregivers, gives each individual a clear indication on what to do in an emergency. I'm sure you'd agree that this could be life saving, especially if the child has an illness or allergy.

Like I say I really wish I'd had Onoco when my daughter was first born. It would have made things so much easier. That being said, I'm really looking forward to using it when our second child will be born & really making the most of what the app has to offer.
