My stand out blog posts of 2022

As we reach the end of 2022 it's only natural for us to reflect on the months gone by. This time last year I set some blogging goals for 2022 and although I've only been semi successful with those, something I have succeeded in is creating content I'm proud of. I'm going to delve a little further into my goals for the year in another blog post. But for today I'm looking back at some of my standout blog posts of 2022.

• Top 10 creative toys to promote your child's development

I've applied to work with Wicked Uncle more times than I care to admit and this year my efforts finally became fruitful. As one of the biggest children's toy retailer they've been on my list to work with for a while. They're the perfect fit for me and my blog and I really enjoyed creating educational and creative content for them. My campaign was successful and I've thankfully now been welcomed into their bloggers networking club. I'm hoping to gain more collaborations with them in the new year.

• Simple interior design hacks to bring the outside in

My background lies in interior design. It's amazing getting the opportunity to write about one of my longest passions; Although I still find it wild I've used my degree more in my blog than I ever have in the field. Working with Cosy Haus Club has been a pleasure. I created this blog post along with a few social campaigns giving easy hacks to quickly transform an interior space. I loved creating for Cosy Haus Club and felt honoured that as a small business they trusted me and my platforms.

• How to deal with the mental load of motherhood

Although only recent, this has to be up there with my standout blog posts of 2022. Not only was collaborating with the brand an amazing achievement, the content and the cause is something I feel insanely passionate about too. Being mum to two small children, mental load is something I deal with daily. This blog post is not only for me, but other mothers who feel like they're struggling with the mental load of motherhood. We deserve to feel like ourselves (and have time to ourselves) outside of motherhood.

• Reserve a table easily with OpenTable

One of the best things about blogging is the opportunities it brings me and my family. I'm grateful for the things I receive, but I'm even more thankful for the opportunities it brings my family. Working with OpenTable I was able to take my husband out for a date night. Something we very rarely get to do these days. We had a fabulous night, ate far too much and we're able to enjoy a night being us two rather than mam and dad. And for that I'm forever grateful.

• Simple ways you can help develop fine motor skills in your child

I've learnt a lot about child development since becoming a parent. Everything has a purpose and this is displayed massively within children's toys design. Within this blog post I explored toys which help aid the development of fine motor skills. A skill I'm currently developing with my youngest. I loved working with Very on this campaign; But it's one of my standout blog posts of 2022 because this brand has literally made Christmas for my girls. I'll never not be as gobsmacked as I am grateful for this incredible collaboration.

• The easy and creative way to support your child's learning at home

This is another more recent post of mine, but one I'm super proud of. I don't publish creative content I'm not proud of, but working with Creative Fabrica is definitely a stand out for me. As a parent, I love the services and resources they provide. It's an honour for me to be a part of such a wonderfully educational collaboration.

• Moving house with a baby: 6 Crucial dos and don'ts

Earlier on in the year I wrote about what I can only describe as one of the most stressful times in my life. We relocated with a six day old baby and 2 year old toddler in tow. Within this post I list some crucial dos and don't for other parents in a similar situation to us... Because it turns out we're actually one of many families doing the most crazy thing.

• Support small businesses in the North East this Christmas

Speaking of relocating; I wanted to honour the North East of England by featuring some of its incredible small businesses in my Christmas gift guide this year. My approach to this felt more journalistic, which is something I'll possibly explore more in the future. I really enjoyed the process of putting this blog post together. I loved discovering incredible small businesses that are right in my doorstep as well as displaying them for the rest of the world to see.
