I'm not one for setting big new years resolutions. I like is setting small, manageable goals for the new year, particularly things I can track to stay accountable for. Last year was a big year for me personally, having our second baby and relocating to our forever home. This year I'm much more focussed on me, my career and excelling in my decision to take my blog full time... Or as full time as possible with two small sproglets! With that in mind & taking inspiration from my friend Corinne, I've set myself a couple of targets for the year. Here are my blogging goals for 2022.
Blogging Goals
Double My Monthly Page Views
I've been teetering along with the same monthly page views for quite some time now. My views aren't bad but seeing as this is now my full time gig, I want to gain as much traffic as humanly possible.
My two main areas of attack are creating more searchable content and promoting the hell out of myself on social media. I'm hoping that by doing so my google analytics will be looking quite different this time next year.
Increase my DA to 35
Last year I managed to increase my DA from 17 to 28, which I'm super happy about. At the beginning of 2021 there was no way I'd have thought my DA would be nearly clocking 30, so I'm beyond chuffed.
Although I think growing my blogs DA from 28 to 35 could be a bit of a reach, I'm going to blooming well go for it! I know some say that DA isn't really important for prospective collaborations anymore, but I'm really excited to see if I'll be able to achieve this one.
Be Consistent
Being consistent with creating content and posting on my website has got to be one of my blogging goals for 2022. My aim at the moment is to consistently publish at least two posts a week.
I'm currently working on a schedule of posting Mondays and Thursdays which is working well so far. Granted we're only three weeks into the year, but you catch my drift.
Hit 3000 Followers on Instagram
I've had (and still have) a pretty love hate relationship with Instagram. For me it's not something which aids my career and I don't make a great deal of money from Instagram. But that's not to say I don't enjoy using the app. I want to keep using it, enjoying it and growing my following over there.
I'm quite a fussy follower on Instagram and in all honesty I don't yet have a strategy for growing my platform. I'm going to be putting pen to paper, exploring Instagram a bit more and doing what I can to grow my following.
Secure an Instagram Campaign
Off the back of my previous blogging goal, I'd love to secure an Instagram campaign this year. Heck, I'd love to secure more if I can!
I really want to explore more areas to increase revenue and Instagram is a huge opportunity for me. Granted I'm a bit iffy with Instagram at the moment, but it won't take long to get out of my funk, I'm sure!
Consistently Earn a Certain Amount of Money Each Month
Last year my monthly pay checks looked pretty different. Some months were great, some not so great. I think a lot of this was down to having a baby, slowing down and deciding not to take on as much work as I potentially could have. So this year will be a great test for me!
This year I want to be consistently earning. I have a set amount of money I'd like to earn per month and although I'm luckily in a position where I don't have to focus or hit a certain amount to keep a roof over my head, I'd still like to earn as much as possible.

Great goals! Domain authority is an interesting one - I don't think brands even think about it. Most collaboration offers these days seem to be for IG or producing videos. It's a shame because many people prefer long form content.

There is nothing wrong with slowing down to look after the little ones. It's a full time job in itself!
You're going to smash these goals! You're already doing so well. Have a look at DR too as I've noticed a few people asking more about DR than DA so I've started tracking mine 🙂

Great post! My blog is brand new so I have lots of hopes that I should make more definitive goals. Like you, I am doing this full time while parenting. It can be tough to strike a balance where I feel capable in both worlds. Your DA growth is impressive! One of my goals is to get a DA to begin with. One day, hopefully not too far down the road, I hope to monetize as well. Right now, I'm trying to learn about social media and post regularly. I also hope for meaningful engagements with other bloggers. Oh! I guess I do have goals after all.

I'd love to increase my DA too. It used to be 33 then dropped dramatically by loads, now it's back up to 32 so hoping I can grow it further than it was before. It's definitely important for blog collaborations - I get paid much more with a higher DA!
