Sunday coffee and kitchen is the newest independent dine in restaurant to hit the quaint little market town of Guisborough. Opening in 2023 it brings something totally new to Guisborough offering its guests a healthier, more instagrammable alternative.

You can find Sunday coffee and kitchen right in the heart of Guisborough close to the market cross. Funnily enough it's just four doors down from its sister bake store Maple and Dough.

Sunday runs Wednesday to Sunday (that's weird to say) with the following opening hours:

Atmosphere and Ambiance

You'll find chill vibes only at Sunday coffee and kitchen. The atmosphere is relaxed yet welcoming and staff members chat to you as if you were friends. There's a great team of people down at Sunday coffee and kitchen. You can tell it's one of those places where the staff have a right laugh with each other. Exactly the type of place I'd want to work if I didn't have 101 other responsibilities.

Menu and Food

The menu at Sunday is incredibly clever. It's all things that can be made in a small kitchen set up, but it's all meals that look utterly delicious. Ingredients are great quality, fresh and local where possible. At Sunday coffee and kitchen you'll be able to order fabulously colourful acai bowls, delicious pancakes, the classic avo on toast and more. Drinks wise you have the option of soft drinks, speciality coffees or smoothies.

Everything in store is vegan with a lot of dishes also being gluten free. You also have the option to up your protein intake on items such as the pancakes or smoothies.

Service

I can't t fault the service received in Sunday on any of the occasions I've been in. The staff are always super attentive and you can tell it's the owners passion project. It's lovely to see.

Price and Value

So, this is where I have to say Sunday coffee and kitchen could potentially be a little oo-er. Their prices I would consider to be on the higher side. However, all the ingredients are great quality, it's a small business and a lot of the food is sourced locally. The price is obviously reflective of this.

For reference pancakes and acai bowls are generally around the £10 mark with smoothies being around £6.

I personally don't mind paying a little bit extra to avoid the corporation's and support a small business.

Location

The location of Sunday coffee and kitchen is great. Guisborough itself is a brilliant little market town with plenty of things to do. You could easily make a day of your trip to Sunday.

There's plenty of nearby parking available. You can park on Guisborough high street with a parking disc (available from the library). There's also numerous car parks all within walking distance to the high street, just be careful you don't pick a short stay when you want a long stay one.

Guisborough is also pretty accessible by bus. Do make sure to check your timetable before your visit.

Accessibility

Like with a lot of old buildings and market town stores, accessibility into the cafe isn't great. I'd be able to get the pushchair in easily enough however a wheelchair user would struggle. Once inside the cafe it's only relatively small too, meaning if you do have a pram it can be a bit awkward trying to find somewhere to park.

Would I Recommend Sunday Coffee and Kitchen?

Absolutely yes! We've always had a wonderful time at Sunday. It's chilled but friendly vibes are what really appeals to me. The menu is varied, healthy and exciting. It's definitely not one to be missed! If you're ever visiting Guisborough, Sunday coffee and kitchen needs to be on your list!
