How to make the school run easier

Start the night before

In order to make the morning easier, preparation should start the day before. Ensure your child has their uniform ironed and ready with their school bag prepared and ready to go. Have them showered and cleaned before they go to bed so that there are no big jobs to be done in the morning. Once your child is in bed, prepare any snacks and lunches to save time the next day.

Take some time for yourself

Waking up at the same time as your child can be hectic as you will be completing your own morning routine as well as theirs. Try and wake up a little bit earlier than your child as it will help you relax a little whilst taking time out for yourself. Eat breakfast, make yourself a coffee and gradually prepare yourself for the morning. This small change can help set the mood and make the morning run feel much calmer.

Reward your child

This is a simple way to help your child stay on track in the morning and stick to their schedule. If your child gets ready for school and has some time to spare, reward them by allowing them to watch some of their favourite TV programme or play a quick game together. Starting the day off with some family bonding is always a great way to set the right mood and approach the day.
