We've reached the end of February and although I know it's a shorter month than most, the end of the month has really caught up with me hard. It feels like it's appeared out of nowhere. Cue some very frantic nights at the laptop, counting down the hours until the baby wakes for her first night feed. It's safe to say I'm feeling a little frazzled at the moment. The end of February has certainly done me dirty! That's not to say however that there weren't some great positives from the month. Here are my seven simple joys of February.

Our trip to Keswick is undoubtedly one of my simple joys in February.

7 Simple joys in February.

Keswick.

Towards the end of the month my husband and I spent a couple of nights away from the children in Keswick celebrating our ten year anniversary. We actually reached ten years least year (we'll soon be hitting eleven years eeek) but life kind of got in the way last year so we've only just got around to it now. We choose Keswick in the Lakes as it's where we spent our first valentine's day all those years ago. It was so nice to rest and recharge although already now I'm very much back to resembling a zombie after continuous night feeds.

The first tooth.

My baby's first tooth has started coming through this month. My toothy little babe no longer feels like a baby anymore. She's levelled up and it makes me just as happy as it does sad. Time definitely feels like it's going quicker second time around. It feels like I'll have a one year old in no time.

Hitting a blogging goal.

One of my blogging goals for the year is to secure a paid Instagram campaign. And this February, I've done it! I still can't quite believe it as it's been such a long time since I made any form of money on Instagram. It's only spurring me on for more now. I can't wait to show it to you all!

Juggling life.

Something I've struggled with since my eldest daughter has started nursery is getting anything else done outside of the school run. She does afternoons and most days it feels like there's not enough time to do anything before or after. There obviously is, it's just difficult getting in the right head space to get up and out early doors. There have been days this month where I have managed to juggle life successfully and I'm celebrating those. The small wins should definitely be celebrated, especially as a new mum.

Solo parenting.

Towards the end of the month I spent a few days solo parenting. It's always a daunting process and I take every single one of my hats off to single parents out there, because it's damn hard work. But I survived. We all survived! I'm always amazed at how well I cope when I'm on my own with the girls. Getting through actually feels like an achievement and 100% one of my simple joys in February.

Bike rising at Whinlatter forest.

Getting back on the bike.

Whilst we were away in the lake district my husband and I spent a day on the bikes at Whinlatter forest. We were torn between hiring electric bikes or mountain bikes but eventually decided on the latter. I've not actually been on a bike for 20+ years and although it felt really alien at first, I quickly got into the swing of things. Heading out to Dalby forest is next on the list... Although next time I think we're going to hire electric!

My seedlings are growing.

I'm not a gardener. Far from it! But I'm enjoying is seeing the little seedlings grow. Whether they'll survive is another question. I spent the beginning of the month with my eldest daughter potting tomatoes, chillies and radishes. It's a great activity to do with kids and she's loved checking on her little seedlings each morning (as have I). The house is slowly getting taken over by plants! And it's only going to get worse.

That rounds up another monthly simple joys post. What have been your simple joys in February?

I love that you are planting things. I am trying to grow new plants too. When I say new… anything that takes little maintenance.
