Welcome to another Together In Mamahood interview. With these interviews I aim to serve motherhood realness from the women who understand best… You!

Today I have interviewed Natasha Quinlan about being mum to her 13 month old boy Harry.

Together in Mamahood interview.

1. What’s one thing you said you’d never do as a parent, but have done since becoming a mum?

I think the one thing I said we wouldn’t do is have him in our bed with us. Not everyone agrees with it and I was the same but sometimes when he's been really ill  teething or just clingy it is so much easier for us all to come and have a cuddle with us and we can all get a good nights sleep.

2. What for you is hardest thing about motherhood?

I think the lack of sleep. I can cope with the endless nappy changes, feeding, messy dinners etc but when I’ve not slept I really struggle and we have a baby that still has at least 1 night feed.

3. How much of a routine do you have?

To a point yes, it may not always be a traditional routine but it works for us. We are lucky that hes pretty flexible so he will sleep, eat and go anywhere. I think doing it from an early age helped with this so nothing fazes him. We all have off days but who doesn’t right?

4. Tell me something that has surprised you about being a mother?

I think…without sounding cocky..how easy we both took to it. When I say that I don’t mean easy but it just became second nature straight away and we just got on with it, the day we came out of hospital we went straight out for a meal with family.

5. Do you think social media portrays motherhood correctly?

I think no matter how much people show the real motherhood I don’t think the majority of it shows it in it’s true light unless you have been through it before. I think any to-be-parents would get a shock when they have a baby if they believed social media.

6. What’s your favourite motherhood memory?

That’s a tough one there are so many!! I think him giving me that proper cuddle for the first time. He's super cuddly and will always give the best hugs!

7. How have you changed since becoming a mum?

I’d like to think I’ve not changed much, I’ve always had that want for a baby so I think my personality always matched being a mum and would always take on that role in any environment anyway!

8. Tell me about your proudest mum moment?

Apart from bringing up my beautiful little boy every day I have to say the labour! It wasn't the easiest and the only part of the pregnancy/parenting aspect I was dreading as I’m not very good with pain or not being in control of what’s happening and when.

9. What are you most looking forward to for your little ones future?

I can’t wait for him to finally walk and gain that little bit of independence that he so desperately craves, from there his world is his oyster!

During your Together in Mamahood interview you can answer whatever you feel comfortable answering, all I ask is that it’s honest! I wan’t to show the realness behind motherhood & just how hard it can be… Because we don’t give ourselves enough credit for how difficult it can be!
