Just like boundaries, it’s important to explain why your child is being disciplined when it’s necessary to do so. Use it as a learning experience and you’ll soon be disciplining less.

5. Listen

Children can find it difficult to put their feelings into words but it’s always important that their parents listen, even if it’s just to make them feel heard.

6. Mutual Decisions

As your child ages and enters the adolescent years, it's important to come to a mutual understanding with them, rather than laying down the law and expecting them to abide.
