Boosting your child's creativity

Don't let mistakes discourage them

When mistakes happen, try and help your child find the positives in it. Remind them that mistakes are usually a stepping stone up to success, so encourage them to try new and creative solutions to reaching their goals. If your child is struggling to learn something, try to help them see things in a new light. Different methods will help your child understand that a little creativity can make life easier.

Encourage your child’s interests

When children are passionate about something, they will most likely put their full effort into trying to achieve it. Get to know what your child's dreams and aspirations are and help them pursue it. If your child is interested in drawing and art, spend time regularly helping them develop their skills and celebrate their progress.

Spend time outdoors

Nature is not only good for mental health but can help improve creativity as well. Studies have found spending time outdoors can help to enhance curiosity as well as working towards recharging the mind. Next time the weather picks up, go on a walk in your local nature reserve, around the neighbourhood or even travel out, to help refresh your child’s mind and give them a boost in their creativity.
