The nursery is the first room that a new parent has to prepare for their baby. It is where they will spend countless hours rocking, feeding and soothing their little one. This room needs to be as comfortable as possible. This way the parents' stress levels are not increased by lack of sleep or restlessness from being uncomfortable.

Ways to create a baby nursery.
1. Think about decor
The nursery should be decorated in a way that makes it look stylish and trendy, but not at the expense of functionality or spending too much time cleaning up after spills. Decorating with patterns can help hide stains when they happen, like putting them on furniture rather than walls. Have durable materials for toys so no dangerous sharp edges or parts are coming apart quickly, which could harm your child. If you think something may come apart while playing with it, don't buy it! For example, plush stuffed animals might break down over time because kids love to play rough with their things (not all children behave this way, though).
2. Invest in a cosy Moses basket
A Moses Basket and good quality, comfortable mattress and Moses basket Fitted Sheet for it will be one of the best investments you can make. Of course, you want your baby to have as much comfort as possible so they sleep better at night. As well as this, babies need to spend time in their own space away from adults, so they learn independence and don't become clingy, which is where the Moses basket comes into play; it also means that parents won't disturb their child's restful slumber! A bassinet or cot would work just fine too. Although these aren't always suitable if you're breastfeeding because breastfeeding needs quiet and calmness (and often darkness), not bright lights and loud noises like those coming from a moving mobile over the crib.
3. Get a soothing rocking chair
A rocking chair is an excellent investment for those times when your baby won't settle, and you're feeling exhausted. It will save you from getting out of bed every time the little one wakes. This may stop any feelings of resentment creeping in because they are keeping everyone awake again (something which happens to all new parents at some point). You can even rest whilst feeding or comforting them if it's not too inconvenient; you'll be amazed at how much time this saves! A glider would also work just fine, but these aren't always comfy to sit on for long periods, so check first.
4. Control the air around you.
If you live in an area where the air is dehydrated, invest in a humidifier for your baby's room. It can help ease symptoms of stuffy noses, and their skin may also become less dry. This will reduce the risk for rashes or irritation around that time. If it's not something that concerns you, then this tip doesn't need following, but if your little one has sensitive skin like mine did when he was born, it might be worth looking into!
Create a baby nursery that is safe, comfortable and stylish for both you and your little one to enjoy. You'll be overwhelmed by how much it helps with day-to-day life if everything works together perfectly rather than creating more stress because things are not working well.
