Is yellow gold jewellery fashionable?

AD. Is yellow gold jewellery fashionable? It's something I've been asked countless times whilst working in a high street jewellers. The store was kitted out pretty much head to toe with white metals, meaning people who prefer yellow often questioned their own judgement. Luckily for them I'm a huge advocate for yellow gold! I could easily put their minds at ease and help select some wonderful pieces which fitted their needs perfectly.

Is yellow gold jewellery fashionable?

Yellow gold is often questioned as being fashionable due to how it's previously been associated. When you think of yellow gold jewellery you think of thick, chunky, outdated pieces. There are often connotations of it being gaudy, garish and old fashioned. I bet your grandma wears yellow gold jewellery doesn't she? I know both of mine do, and this is exactly why we question if yellow gold jewellery is fashionable.

White metals are 100% viewed as being more modern and chic. Working in a jewellers it was always white metals people would come in looking for. 90% of the engagement rings we sold were white metals. I've actually read that it may be down to the rise in technologies (like everything else these days). Because phones and tablets etc are available in cooler tones it's what we see as modern, making the vast majority of us want to purchase jewellery in a similar colour.

Why I think yellow gold jewellery is fashionable.

It's versatile.

I find yellow gold really easy to wear. The warm tones of yellow gold compliment all skin tones and the jewellery pieces go with a number of outfits. Although I usually wear my jewellery with quite casual outfits, I find that yellow gold can really elevate a look; So much more than paler or rose toned metals. Women's gold chain necklaces, stacked rings or a simple t-bar bracelet can make all the difference.

It's timeless.

There's nothing more classic when it comes to jewellery than yellow gold. It's a timeless metal that for me will never go out of fashion. Yellow gold can be passed down too. Not to sound morbid but the jewellery that I do have will be passed down to my children for them to wear when they're at a suitable age. I'm sure it'll look just as good on them in twenty years time as it does on me now.

It's bold.

Yellow gold feels like it makes a statement. Because not everybody wears it, it feels like it's a much bolder choice. And for me, bolder means better. The jewellery pieces I have in yellow gold are quite understated in their design however because of the metal type they still make a statement, especially when numerous pieces are worn together. Yellow gold jewellery shows personality.

Daisy yellow gold jewellery.

Yellow gold fortunately isn't going anywhere, however unfortunately it feels like there isn't much out there for the modern person. Thankfully there are certain brands out there like Daisy who go against the grain. They make yellow gold jewellery fashionable again!

I've updated my yellow gold collection with a few new rings from Daisy that can easily be stacked or worn individually.

I chose these three rings as individually they're quite simplistic pieces, however when worn together they make such a statement. The floral ring is a classic from Daisy. I love the peep of skin it creates when stacked against the more flat, classic ring designs. The howlite stone ring is also super easy to wear. I love the little pop of interest in the stone, even more so when you get a closer look and see that it contains a marble effect.

I love the designs Daisy comes up with in their pieces. They mix styles brilliantly and really make yellow gold fashionable again!
