Fashion | Isiko Jewellery*

Working in a jewellers, I've seen an awful lot of beautiful jewellery, whether its big diamond clusters or dainty filigree pendents, you name it I've seen it. I'm a massive jewellery fan however a lot of jewellers will sell similar, if not the same products. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that I don't appreciate what the high street has to offer... I'm just looking for something a little bit different & this is where Isiko comes along!

Paula, Isikos' founder, has a strong belief in individuality and diversity & after discovering a beautifully unusual all glass picture of a house on a hill, with grass fields and a setting sun, she decided she needed to recreate it. She tells me it was because she couldn't afford to buy the image, however I wouldn't be surprised if it was the challenge element that urged her to take an eight month course in glass developing in order to recreate the image of dreams. So what does art work have to do with jewellery you ask?... Well it's Paulas' passion for fashion that transferred her well hones glass manipulating skills into creating beautiful, unique pieces of glass jewellery. All the Isiko pieces are 100% unique, which I think is absolutely amazing as you're not going to see anybody else wearing he same piece as yourself. There's something so special about jewellery in the first place, knowing that it's completely unique is a massive bonus!

Paula currently creates glass jewellery however she is planning on introducing glass home ware pieces to her collection, which I'm sure are going to be a bloggers dream! She's also in the middle of working with a top British Kitchen creating what could possibly be the most wonderful glass tiles. In principal the ethos of Isiko is the same whether buying a piece of jewellery or a range of tiles, everything you purchase is going to be 100% unique and made with 100% of Paulas' hard work and determination.

The pieces I have from Isiko are a water inspired long line pendednt and drop earrrings. Because of the sea green & blue colours I've decided to pair my new jewels with a pair of summer cigarette pants from Zara & basic white tee. I love the colour shades in these trousers as they instantly make me feel summery and they were my first thought when I opened up my Isiko package - I knew they'd work perfectly together!

Have any of you guys heard of Isiko? What are your thoughts on unique jewellery vs highstreet jewellery?

Beauty | New Cid Cosmetics I-Glow*

Do you ever come across a beauty product, where after trying it out, you can't imagine your life/beauty regime with it!.. Well that's happened to me with the New Cid Cosmetics I-Glow in the golden bronze shade Sirocco.

I didn't really have the need for a new blush, god know my collection is already overflowing but when I was kindly gifted with the I-Glow at a recent press dinner, I couldn't wait to give it a go!

Initially it was the packaging which first drew me to the I-Glow: The sleek white lines, angled packaging, mirrored finishes and the most perfectly domes baked blush all makes for a bloggers dream product to photograph.
Then came the colour pay off! After a quick swirl of my Real Techniques Blush Brush into the product I gently applied the product to the apples of my cheeks. There was a slight bit of fall out, but that's nothing a quick tap of the brush can't solve. The I-Glow is super pigmented, but what I love most about the product is it's reflective pigments which enhance your natural glow and leaves the skin feeling ridiculously radiant & Summer ready. I'll definitely be taking this little beauty on my holidays with me (which is in three weeks time - Eeep!)  because it'll work so so well with a tan.
I've found the longevity of the I-Glow to be absolutely amazing. The bronzey glow stays on the skin pretty much all day as well as retaining the reflective pigment. This really is an amazing product & even though at £26.00 it probably is a little more than I would spend myself on a baked blush, I really think this one's worth it! I have the shade Sirocco, but New Cid Cosmetics also do two others in the reange, Coral crush which is a pink coral shade & Ice Pop which is a beautiful rose pink shade.

Have you tried any of the New Cid Cosmetics products before? I'd love to hear your thoughts and opinions on the brand.

Thank you for reading. Lots of love. Claire.x

Beauty | NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams

If you don't know the hype behind the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams, then where on Earth have you been? I'm usually the last person to cotton on to a hype or cult beauty product but look at me here today, confessing my love for these little pots of loveliness! Yay!

After picking up a couple of the NYX Butter Glosses not so long ago and loving them I decided to pop back to my local NYX counter to pick up some more goodies... Come on, it was inevitable wasn't it.
I opted for two of the Soft Matte Lip Creams in the shades Stockholm (left) & Cairo (right), two brown toned nudes which are going to be super easy to wear during the day.
If you're a regular reader of my blog you'll know that I'm on the hunt for the perfect brown toned nude... In fact, I think even when I find it, I'll still be on the hunt for something a little different.

What I adore most about these products is the formula! As soon as applying the product onto my lips, I knew almost instantly that I was going to fall hook, line and sinker in love with these lip creams. There's something so different about the formula of these lip products compared to anything else I've tried, they're just amazing. The Soft Matte Lip Creams are really velvety in texture and do feel quite mattifying on the lips but more so weirdly in a rich, nourishing way.
The small fluffy applicator does the job perfectly, if anything I'd prefer it to be more of a doe foot shape style because I find them to be more precise but beggars can't be choosers can we. That's honestly my only criticism of these products, everything else I absolutely adore. They're a complete winner for me!... The only thing is, is that I need more shades!
The longevity of the Soft Matte Lip Creams is fab, they last around four hours on the lips which is when they would need reapplying. I think though that if you wanted to leave reapplying them for longer you can do, these are the type of products that leave your lips still with a tint of colour so if you haven't quite got the time to reapply that's okay - You can still get away with it!
If that isn't enough adoration for the lip creams, the scents are just to die for! Both Shades smell like fruity desserts. I can't quite put my finger on what dessert exactly, so if you know please write it in the comments below, because it'll do my head in. All you need to know is that they smell frigging beautiful!

I still don't think I've found the perfect brown toned nude yet, but I'm sure having fun searching for it!

Like I said though I'm freaking loving these lip products. My makeup drawer is slowly getting more full with NYX lip products and I bloody love it! Do you own any of the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams? What shades do you have? What do I need to be picking up? Also if you have any recommendations for brown toned liquid style lipsticks I'd love to hear.

Beauty | Collection Speedy Highlighter

As far as highlighters go, and admittedly the majority of my cosmetics collection, for me the less faff that comes with the application process the better. The quicker I can do my makeup, the quicker I can get going with my day & the easier my life will be... And I for one, am 100% down for that!

With Summer hopefully just around the corner I was on the lookout for an illuminating product that would sit well with a dewy foundation & one that would give a more natural glowing look. I opted for the Collection Speedy Highlighter initially because the name really stuck out to me, but after opening & swatching I thought the colour was really beautiful & exactly the type of product I was on the hunt for.

I chose the lightest shade, 01 Pearl Sheen which is a bronzey nude shimmer. My highlighter game isn't that strong & I didn't want a product that would make my face look like a glitter ball so for me this shade is perfect!
I'd definitely say this highlighter is a great starter product because of the shade and shimmer pay off, it's not massively glittery, it adds more of a natural glow to the tops of the cheekbones which I love!
If you're looking for something with a higher shimmer pay off, I think this product would work amazingly well as a base with a powder highlight over the top. I'm not quite brave enough to rock this look yet, but for others I think it's work brilliantly well.
The collection highlighter does exactly what it says on the tin, all you need is a super speedy swish on the tops of the cheekbones to give you that natural sun kissed glow.
To blend I've used my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge, however if I'm honest using your hands works just as well for me & it's quicker.
The longevity of the Collection Speedy Highlighter is fab! I usually apply this around 6am (eek) and find it lasts almost to the end of the day.
Because it's such a natural highlight anyway I don't mind it wearing off towards the evening as I can easily reapply if I need to.
What enhances my love for this highlighter even more so is the price! Oh my goodness, this highlighter set me back a mere £2.99 - It's a complete bargain & one I'm pretty sure I'm going to be going back for.

Have you tried the Collection Speedy Highlighter before? What else should I be picking up from Collection?

Beauty | Paul Mitchell First Impressions

Following on from the Salon Success press dinner I attended a few weeks ago I wanted to give you guys a sneaky peak into some of the amazing goodies I received.

If you caught my last couple of blog posts you'll know that I recently attended a press dinner held by Salon Success at Malmaison in Leeds. At the dinner Kim & Amy ever so kindly showed us some new releases from hair care supremacist Paul Mitchell as well as products from the award winning cosmetics brand New Cid Cosmetics. After the event had finished, and we all had full tums from the most delicious three course meal, all us bloggers were handed two goodie bags, one of which was filled with all these amazing Paul Mitchell products.

Marula Oil Rare Oil Replenishing Shampoo & Conditioner.*
I've always had great experiences with Paul Mitchell shampoos & conditioners, even if I haven't 100% loved the scent, the product themselves have worked amazingly well & I'm sure these will be no different! Paul Mitchell use only the purest of oils within their products so I'm really excited to try these two because I have super high hopes for them restoring my hairs condition.

Marula Oil Rare Oil Intensive Hair Masque.*
I can almost smell the nourishing elements within this product & I can't wait to lather it all over my hair! Because it's quite a thick consistency I'd imaging this would be the type of mask I could only use one a week, or once every other week - But I'm so looking forward to trying it! I feel like it's going to work absolute wonders! Fingers crossed!

Marula Oil Rare Oil Treatment.*
We got a little sneaky preview of this treatment oil at the press dinner & let me tell you, it's amazing! The oil can be used either before shampooing across all your tresses, or just on the ends below blow drying, as well as on your body. The oil is super duper rich & pure so you only need a few drops of the product in order to make a massive difference, & I'm sure it'll do just that.

Awapuhi Wild Ginger Mirrorsmooth Shampoo & Conditioner.*
If you're looking for a hair care range with serious depth, then this one could be a winner! The wild ginger scent is something that I really thought I wouldn't like, but now I've had a good whiff, I absolutely love it. It's quite a masculine scent, and one that I believe will stay on my locks until the next wash.

Awapuhi Wild Ginger Mirrorsmooth High Gloss Primer.*
A heat defense product is something I always forget in my hair care routine... You know how it is, getting up for work at 6am, heat protection isn't usually at the forefront of my mind, so it might take me a little while to get into the habit of using this primer, but I'm going to give it a bloody good go. I've only used heat defense sprays before also, so using this product, in gel form is going to be really interesting. This could be a good one to take on holiday with me too, because of the humidity resisting formula.

A massive thank you once again to Amy & Kim who invited me to the Salon Success Press Dinner. I had a fabulous time & it was amazing gaining a sneaky preview into the new Paul Mitchell products.

Have you tried any of these products before? What are your favourite Paul Mitchell products?

Thank you for reading. Claire.x
