Beauty | My Makeup Realisation.

You'd think being a beauty blogger, that I'm a massive lover of makeup... Well actually, maybe not so much. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy makeup & if you saw my stash, you'd think I was a crazy lady, but I don't need to wear it, to feel like me.

I was a bit of a late bloomer when it comes to makeup. I didn't actually start wearing makeup till I was about 16... About the same time when I discovered hair straighteners... Halle-flipping-lujah! Subsequently sixteen year old me had a complete overnight transformation & i began my makeup journey like a bull in a china shop. Think fake tan, a hella load of bronzer and fake eyelashes upon fake eyelashes. Yeah! That was me!... Please tell me we've all been there? Please?

Ten years later (Gahh!) my attitude towards makeup is very different.

I still wear makeup, but I no longer set my alarm half an hour earlier in order to cover my face in a tonne of products. This lass just 'aint got time for that any more! I enjoy wearing makeup, but I've come to the realisation that it doesn't define me. I've learnt to love my skin and accept all of it's flaws, that's what makes me who I am, not the latest YSL lipstick... *Cough* I wish I owned a YSL lipstick!

I'm not afraid to show you my imperfections & I believe you shouldn't be afraid to show me yours... We're only human after all.

Has your attitude towards makeup changed since you were a teen?

  1. I am (at 32) an absolute make-up novice! I'm such a tom-boy, always have been, that make-up and everything that comes with it (the stores, brands, beauty halls, boxes etc) actually makes me a little faint.. I can't handle it. My brain just doesn't want to know/learn/listen. I've tried. I've bought all the products and 'equipment' but I a) Just don't have the time, plus i don't see it as a priority to warrant getting early out of bed for and b) I'd prefer to spend my money elsewhere.
    it's a minefield! lol
I'm generally happy along as I have eyebrows and lashes. They are what define my face. I wear foundation or just a BB cream most days, but I do/can go without too.
I can't say it's an age thing, my thoughts/opinions, as there's plenty of women who I'm sure are completely the opposite to me. :)
You have beautiful clear skin. :)

    1. I was a total tomboy when I was younger, I think that's why it took me so long to get into makeup. It just wasn't a 'thing' for me when I was younger. Even though, as I've gotten into it much more as times gone by, I'm the exact same as you, it's not a necessity for me & I don't feel like I have to wear makeup everyday. Don't get me wrong, some days I go all out, but I can definitely feel it on my skin, my face starts to feel all clogged and grubby, I definitely couldn't do it every day!! X
