Lifestyle | A Look Back At My Previous Posts

I thought a lovely way to round off 2015 would be to create a 'blast from the past' type post and look back through 10 of my most popular ramblings of the year. I'm not going to waffle too much today, as I've done more than enough in the actual posts themselves, I just wanted a memorable post to look back on the achievements of the little slice of internet I call ClaireMac

1.Event | The Body Shop White Rose.
My first ever Body Shop events & one of my first events since moving to Leeds. This was a wonderful event ran by Tom & Shannon at The White Rose branch where we got an insight into their then new ranges such as Fuji Green Tea & Virgin Mojito.

2. Beauty | Lush Bar Humbug.
Otherwise known as #Blogmas day 8! I really enjoyed doing #Blogmas this year, not that I didn't the previous year, but knowing one of my recent posts made it to the number two spot is really making me feel chuffed right now. It's a sure sign that my blog's heading in the right direction.

3. Event | Benito Brow Bar. Share The Wow!
This reminds me that I need to go back & get my brows done. Eeek! I'm so thankful for my little blog & the opportunities that arise from it, knowing that you guys love reading about the events I get to go to, makes me feel all warm & fuzzy.

4. Beauty | The Body Shop Glazed Apple Shower Gel.
Another recent post of mine. Yippee! This little beauty made its' way into my stash after a recent trip to the Meadowhall store where we got to preview a few of the Christmas lines from The Body Shop.

5. Fashion | The Camel Coat.
I'm so glad this made the top ten, because I frigging love this coat. I think it's got to be my favourite buy of the year actually. I'd love to improve my fashion photography over 2016, I'm glad at least one post made the cut, but this is definitely my area to improve upon.

6. Event | The Powder Room, Lamberts Yard.

Seems you lovely people enjoy reading my events posts doesn't it - And I love attending them, so it's a win win situation. The Lamberts Yard event introduced loads of new brands including Wood Wood, an amazing sunglasses brand that I will no doubt be visiting once Spring/Summer comes back around.

 7. Fashion | Colour Blocking For Spring.
When I see pictures like this, it makes me feel so nostalgic. This was taken in out very first flat in Leeds, when we didn't know whether we were coming or going or what the hell we were doing. Oh how times have changed! This is one of the reasons I love having a blog - It's basically like an online diary for myself to look back on & reflect upon some amazing times.

8. Beauty | Five Festive Nail Favourites.
Because we all love a post especially dedicated to nail varnishes don't we! I think we all change up our Nail colour & Lip colour (nicely leading me onto my next post) habits over the festive period, so I really enjoyed writing up a post featuring my faves. I'm glad it was one of your faves too!

9.  Beauty | Five Festive Lip Favourites.

I'm so glad this post went down just as well as my five festive nail favourites did. I really love the change in lip colours as the seasons change & you definitely can't beat a red lip for Christmas.

10. Beauty | The Body Shop Wild Argan Oil Hand Cream.
Another #Blogmas post has made my top ten! I'm so excited that my more recent posts are some of my most liked. It's definitely a sign that my little blog is heading in the right direction & I can't wait to see where 2016 takes it.

Thank you so much for reading xclaireabella over the last year!! I'm so so so grateful & appreciative that you guys pop back time & time again just to read my ramblings. It's crazy!! I've got some super plans for 2016, even though I think I'll be blogging a little less than I have been this year, I want to create more of a brand with xclaireabella & see where that could take me.

Thank you once again for reading. Sending you so much love | Claire.x

Beauty | One Last Christmas Pamper Night.

It seems this month I've indulged in a pamper night, probably every other night!.. Is that too much? Who knows, but I'm not about to stop! There's something about Winter, whether it be the darker nights or the cosier, more festive atmosphere, that makes me want to hop in a nice warm bubble bath and indulge in a bit of 'me' time.

To set the mood (because it's dead romantic a bath for one isn't it) I use my Yankee Wax Burner with the very festive Yankee Christmas Garland Wax Tarte. I absolutely love the smell of this, it's very outdoorsy & has that specific Christmas tree scent to it. I'll then run my bath before deciding upon which Lush goodie, I'll be popping in there - I'm really enjoying the Luxury Bath Melts at the moment, with You've Been Mangoed as my favourite, it's so so delicious! I'll always begin by exfoliating the body, to try and get rid of any dead skin or nasties that shouldn't be there. At the moment I'm using the Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub - It's rather on the oily side for me, but the scent is to die for & the product itself works really well. Matching the sweet citrus scent of You've Been Mangoed, I've been reaching more for the Soap & Glory's Orangeasm Body Wash. I love the combination of the two products here & even though they aren't the most festive, I find them really refreshing & gorgeous to use. After a scrub-a-dub-dub I'll then move on to my tresses. My hair care routine is really simple at the moment, I've been using the Pro:voke Silver Shampoo which works absolute wonders with restoring my ashy blonde ends & then to condition, I've been using Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Moisurising Conditioner, which is packed full of coconutty goodness leaving my locks feeling amazing! The two together are working perfectly for my hair at the moment - I'm really impressed with how well the Pro:voke Silver Shampoo works. After getting out of the bath & putting on my really sexy (not) Christmas Pyjamas I'll then moisturise the eff out of my skin. I've been loving The Body Shops' Frosted Plum Shimmer Lotion recently. Not only does it smell amazingly festive, but it leaves the skin with a really gorgeous glitter. This is the perfect product to use before your works Christmas do, or a night out - It's great!! To round off my pamper evening I'll repaint my nails, more than likely with something from my 'five festive nail favourites' post. I'm really fancying the Barry M silver shimmer at the moment, because why not add even more glitter into the mix!

What are your favourite products to use for an indulgent pamper night? Do you add anything festive into the mix like me? I've got one of those 'the more glitter, the better' attitudes at the moment.

Fashion | Pre-Christmas Sales

It seems that more and more high street stores are starting their Christmas sales, before the big day's even arrived. It's difficult to miss the sale signs in the shop windows so I thought I'd do a little bit of research into what to spend my Christmas money on... Because there's nothing like being prepared, right?

1. Rust suede skirt, Miss Selfridge. Was £35.00 - Now £10.00
2. Red double buckle ankle boots, Warehouse. Was £95.00 - Now £45.00
3. Faux fur biker jacket , Warehouse. Was £65.00 - Now £40.00
4. Cream cashmere roll neck, Topshop Unique. Was £75.00 - Now £53.00
5. Cream cowl neck, Boohoo. Was £20.00 - Now £8.00
6. Over sized faux fur coat, Miss Selfridge. Was £120.00 - Now £40.00
7. Grey off shoulder knit, Boohoo. Was £15.00 - Now £10.00

What do you think of my sale picks? I'm really chuffed I've managed to find £425 worth of gorgeous clothes for £206 - I think that's a complete bargain, and even though i love all of my pics, I extra extra love the faux fur coat - I think it's flipping beautiful!!

Thank you so much for reading, I've been loving your #BLOGMAS feedback!! Lots of love | Claire.x

Beauty | Two Very Different Lush Shower Gels.

If you're stuck with presents to buy, I don't think you can go wrong with Lush... I've never met anyone who wasn't a fan & it's pretty much a given that the receiver is going to be thrilled with their gift! I find the best presents to buy & the way to trial new products is to purchase the smaller bottles. This is why today we're going to be looking at two Christmas shower gels, in the form of the ever popular Snow Fairy & Twilight.

For me, Snow Fairy is a cult beauty product over the festive season. There's something about its sickly sweet, candy cane scent that takes me back home and immediately reminds me of the festive season. I find using this product is great on a morning as the scent brightens and awakens the mind. The candy floss scent is super recognisable & almost leaves me wanting to eat the product, it's that yummy! Snow Fairy does contain a slight glitter, however I think it's only quite subtle on the skin, which is lovely, I don't want to be looking like a glitter bomb on my way to work on a morning. The product lathers really easily and is an absolute dream to use - I really need to stock up... Unless anyone fancies buying me some for Christmas? Anybody at all?
Twilight is a very different scent for me, packed with lavender and malt notes this product has a very masculine, night time type scent to it. It's recommended to use this product on an evening as the ingredients create a really relaxing and comforting atmosphere - Perfect for drifting off to the land of nod! This shower gel has a similar consistency to So White, it's quite watery & doesn't later as well as Snow Fairy, however I absolutely love the scent & think it works perfectly for a Winter pamper night.

I'd be more than happy to receive either of these two in my stocking next week. Have you tried any of these products before? What are your favourite Christmas products from Lush?
On a side note, what do you guys think of my new blog layout? I treated myself to a pipdig template & even though I'm still tweaking a few bits an pieces, I'm really impressed with it.

Beauty | What I Have On My Festive Face

I'm totally overdoing the amount of times I can get the word 'festive' into a blog post title but yahno it's only Christmas once a year so I'm going to bloody well go for it!... I've found myself rocking this glittery eye & bronzey faced makeup look quite a lot over the festive season. It's a really versatile look which can easily take you from day to night depending how much glitz you're adding. Even better, this is pretty much all drugstore so it's not going to set you back a small fortune.

For my base I'll use the Bourjous Healthy Mix foundation in the shade Light Vanilla, this is an absolute winner for me along with many others - the product is lightweight, dewy & gives a fab amount of coverage. To conceal any bags or blemishes I've been favouring the ever popular Collection Lasting Perfection concealer. This is an absolute cult beauty product & it's easy to see why! The formula is thick, creamy & covers any insecurities like a dream. An oldie but a goodie for adding definition to the face is with the Makeup Revolution Ultra Blush 8 Contour Palette in the shade Golden Sugar - I've had this for such a long time, but have only recently fallen back in love with it, not that I ever fell out of love with it, it was just one of those products that unfortunately got pushed towards to back of the queue. This palette has everything you could ever possibly need though to highlight and contour your face, it's an absolute gem of a product. To set everything I dust over Soap and Glorys One Heck Of A Blot, I'm touching pan with this one at the moment (Waaahh!) I've gotten so much use out of it & I adore how it mattifys and evens my complexion. For eyes I've been loving the Tanya Burr Hollywood Palette, especially shades bookworm & Enchantment, two gorgeous festive golden toned browns - I've been popping these under my lower lash line as I feel it gives my eyes much more of a glowing impact. I've been going without liner, however I have been packing on loads of the Maybelline Volume Express Colossal mascara. This has been a makeup staple of mine over the last few months or so, it's a brilliant little drugstore product that lifts and holds a curl all day. To finish the eyes, I'll define my brows with Benefits Browzings. I've recently started using this again after my Sleek Eyebrow Pencil ran out & if I'm totally honest, I prefer the cheaper alternative, but needs must, yahno! Finally to balance out my face I've been using the Maybelline 24 Hour Super Stay Lipstick in shade Soft Taupe - it's neutral enough to wear during the day however because it's a liquid lipstick it gives the precise definition that an evening look requires.

All in all, I absolutely love these makeup products and how they transform my face into one of half decency. Like I say, I'm a complete tight arse when it comes to buying makeup products, so if you're on a tight budget like me, I'm sure you'll absolutely love these. If you've tried any of these I'd love to know what you think? Is there any similar higher end products you could suggest at all to achieve a similar look?

Thanks once again for following my #Blogmas series, I'm so chuffed that I've done so well with it. Lots of love | Claire.x

Fashion | Christmas Day Outfit

I've always thought that a lot of thought and effort needs to go into what you wear in Christmas Day. That is if you're not wearing your pyjamas all day, of course! A Christmas Day outfit needs to be comfy enough to last you through the day (and the food) and then stylish enough to get into the festive spirit.

I think I've reached a happy medium with today's look. The high waisted, wide leg trousers are ridiculously comfy to wear, and then the top is an easy throw on piece which I feel smartens the look up. I'd been after these khaki trousers for a little while now, and when I saw them in the Missguided sale at half price, I knew I had to have them. Missguided actually do a matching jacket to this which I was/and still am thinking about getting. I love the material of these as they're really luxurious and expensive feeling - I feel like a mega babe when I've got them on! My top is part of a two piece from Luxemme. I love wearing them together equally as I do as separates - I think they're such good value for money & they've got an amazing range on their website.
I think what I love most about this outfit is that even after you've had your Christmas dinner & stuffed yourself with one hundred and one pigs in blankets, you'll still look just as good with a slouchy over sized cardigan thrown over the top to cuddle up (maybe even have a nap) in.

What do you think of my Christmas day outfit? It's not long now until the big guy comes down the chimney! Eeek! What are you wishing for this Christmas?

Beauty | A Few Kiehls Samples

A month or so ago, the new Kiehls counter opened up in Debenhams in The White Rose Shopping Centre. There was a complete buzz in the centre however if I’m honest, I was completely clueless when it came to the brand (bad blogger) & the variety of products they supply. I decided to pop in on a lunch break to do a bit more investigating & have a skin consultation.

My skin consultation went pretty much as expected. The result was that I have quite dry to normal skin, so I was recommended products that weren’t too oily & that would inject moisture into my skin...

I was kindly given a sample of the Kiehls Ultra Facial Toner, a lightweight effective toner for all skin types. I'm used to using my Simple Kind To Skin Toner, so it'll be lovely to see how the two compare. It's PH & alcohol free meaning it's going to be super soft & nourishing on the skin.
You guys know I love my moisturisers, so the Ultra Facial Cream will be an amazing one to try. The product claims to reduce lost moisture whilst drawing it back into the skin from the air. I'm quite excited to try this one, however at £24 a tub, I'm not sure whether it's going to be worth it for me... I'm such a stingy sod!
The only product I’d heard of was the Midnight Recovery Concentrate so when I found this in my little samples bag I was absolutely over the moon. I'd always heard amazing things about this product but I've never really fancied forking out for the full size product so having this little sample is brilliant for test driving. I'm pretty sure I'm going to love this one, I just want to make sure I'd get my moneys worth out of it.
Something that I'm really excited to try is the Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate... Gahh that's a mouthful! Even though my skin is relatively okay, I'm always having a whinge that it can get dull & quite tired looking so I think this one's going to be a goodie for my skin dilemma - I'm really looking forward to trying this one. I think I'm going to love it!
Although I'm yet to develop any wrinkles (thank you baby face) I think it's always best to put the work in first to try prevent anything from happening. I'm not sure when I'm going to be test driving the Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate? I might give it to my mum, in a non rude way of course, just because I think it'll be more beneficial for her than it is me - It sounds like an amazing product though!

Have any of you guys tried any Khiels products before? I'm sure I'm late to the party (yet again) so what products do you recommend I try? Have you got a Khiels holy grail product.

Fashion | The Glittery Joules Knit.

I've mentioned before on xclaireabella that I'm trying to condense my wardrobe & create a capsule wardrobe. Each item I'm wearing here made the cut as I think each piece would work with various different outfits in numerous different ways, however one piece I'm really enjoying at the moment is this Joules Hearn textured sweatshirt.

I'm completely in love with this Joules cream sweater, it only feels quite thin to touch, but it keeps me so ridiculously warm... Hence why the pins are out! The sweater sleeves have a glitter thread running through them, which I think is absolutely perfect for the festive season. You can't go wrong with a bit of added glitter around this time of year & I feel super really Christmassy wearing it. I've decided to pop a skirt on today, which is very unlike me, just because I fancied wearing something a bit different & making the most of my new capsule wardrobe. Woop! By adding the sleeveless jacket over the top, I feel like the whole outfit is brought together in a super cosy, gorgeously festive type of way. I absolutely love this outfit!

What do you think of todays outfit? Even though I've got my legs out, I'm still feeling toasty warm in this ensemble.

Tag | The Christmas Tag

We're thirteen days into #Blogmas now which means we're officially half way to Christmas. Wahey! So I thought, what better day to do the Christmas tag than today!

1. What is your favourite Christmas song?
I have too many! I'm a huge fan of Whams' 'Last Christmas' It's a classic festive tune which never seems to get old. Plus George Michaels' hair in the video is insane, I'd have loved to have lived in the 80's. That's got to be my favourite, however I can't not say Mariah Careys' 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' - It's the Christmas tune of our generation!

2. What is your favourite festive drink?
I don't really drink alcohol so when I think festive drinks, I think Christmas coffees. I love the idea of festive drinks, getting snugly with a Gingerbread Latte sounds ideal, but when it actually comes to the crunch, I just can't get on with them. I find a lot of Costas' & Starbucks' festive drinks to be way too sugary for my taste buds to handle, so I'm afraid I don't have a favourite. I just drink regualar coffee! I'm a coffee fiend!

3. Do you have a favourite Christmas film?
Elf! Without a doubt! I bloody love that film, Will Ferrell can literally do no wrong in my eyes. I always watch Love Actually as well around Christmas time. Without my boyfriend of course, he think it's the worst Christmas film there is... What does he know though ey?

4. What is at the top of your Christmas list this year?
Totally boring... But money! I've gone a bit wild with my credit card over the last six months or so, so I'd really love some help paying that off. Note to self: Never get a credit card again!

5. What is your favourite makeup look?
I've really gotten into nude shimmery eyes recently, so I'm wearing this most days paired with a festive red lip. I'm not really too sure why it took me so long to get into this eye look, it works perfectly with pretty much every lip colour! I love it!

6. What is your favourite thing to dress up in at Chrismas?
If it's not festive PJ's and novelty slippers then it's got to be a snuggly over sized jumper. I love anything cosy so knitwear for me is an essential at this time of year.

7. Would you play out in the snow? Or enjoy it from the inside with a cup of tea sitting in front of the fire?
Definitely sitting inside! When I was younger I adored getting out in the snowfall but I suffer really badly nowadays with raynauds & chilblains so it's so much more hassle than it's worth. My body basically hates winter!

8. Wrapping presents. Love or loathe?
Love! I pride myself on my present wrapping abilities... Not to blow my own trumpet or anything, but my present wrapping skills are sick!

9. What is your favourite Christmas food?
Without a shadow of a doubt... Pigs in blankets! Each year me and my sister have a competition on who can eat the most piggies throughout the day. It's sad, but it's hilarious at the same time. We both end up about equal though, because we both frigging love Pigs in Blankets.

10. What is your favourite thing about Christmas?
Now I've moved away from my parents, I love the excitement of going home. Driving home for Christmas to see all my family is just amazing... And it can't come quick enough if you ask me.

Thank you so much for reading my Christmas tag & following my #Blogmas series this year. I'm loving it so far!

Beauty | Natural Collection Moisture Shine Lipsticks.

I'm a complete sucker for purse friendly cosmetics. Don't get my wrong, I love a little bit of luxury, but when it comes to makeup nowadays I think there are so many dupes available - It seems like a bit of a no brainer for me to opt for cheaper alternatives.

Something that caught my eye, and a brand I haven't really tried before are the moisture shine lipsticks from Natural Collection. I had a £10 voucher for Boots and thought that with it I'd try as many new makeup products as possible. With the 3 for 2 offer at Boots, I actually managed to pick up six products, which is pretty darn amazing. The moisture shine lipsticks came in at an affordable £1.99, hence why I picked up two, because you know me, I have heart palpitations if I miss a bargain!
I chose the shades Cranberry (left) & Pink Mallow (right) as I thought they were both really wearable shades. Cranberry is a deep mauve toned pink whereas Pink Mallow is a softer blush style pink, both absolutely perfect shades for either day or night. The products apply with a sheen & a high impact of colour which look fab! The formula is very soft & easy to apply, which is always a worry when it comes to more affordable cosmetics. Granted you don't get the quality of a MAC or Charlotte Tilbury lippie but still... I'm rather impressed. The lipsticks longevity is brill as the colour is really long lasting, even when eating & drinking, the shade seems to stay put. My only downside is that the packaging isn't great... But who cares about that? Not me! The moisture shine lipsticks don't look like a luxurious product, but the lipsticks themselves are amazing products! I'm really impressed with how well they work, especially considering they cost £1.99 - That's less than my bacon butty on the morning!

Are there any standout budget lip products you could recommend? I've recently bought another acrylic lipstick holder & it's looking rather bare, so all you lovely bloggers need to lead me astray & show me lipsticks to buy!

Thank you so much for reading. I hope you're really enjoying my #Blogmas series. Lots of love | Claire.x

Fashion | The Classic LBD Party Dress.

If like me, you struggle when it comes to the party season for dresses then an LBD is surely a fail safe option. I love fashion & beauty however I wouldn't say I was the girliest of girls: I very rarely wear heels or skirts above the knee so finding a party dress fit for the festive season is really difficult for me. FCUK is a brand, always at the forefront of my mind when it comes to LBD's - I've got a few (admittedly hiding away) in my wardrobe, one of my favourites being this sequined Grecian style mini dress.

For me, you can't get better than the cut of FCUK dresses - They're just amazing! And even though this particular dress has that typical floaty Grecian look, there's a fitted slip dress underneath which sucks you in in all the right places, portraying the perfect hourglass silhouette. This dress instantly makes me feel ready for a night out, I feel smart, sophisticated & sexy when wearing this little number. Granted it is kind of a boobs out, legs out type of dress, but I think because of the fabric style & cut, you can get away with it.
Like I said I'm not a massive sky scraper heels fan, I love the look of them teamed with a mini dress or skinny jean, but on me, I just don't feel 100% comfortable, hence my trust black boots. These babies, have got to be one my best purchases - They're ridiculously comfortable, easy to wear & literally go with everything.I didn't want to wear too many accessories with my party outfit, just because I think there's a lot of detailing already on the dress however what I have picked out is my patent pink clutch & sterling silver bracelet.

What do you think of LBD's? What are your go to party looks?

Beauty | Lush Bar Humbug.

I’ve really indulged in Lush products recently. There’s something about the run up to Christmas that seems to flick a switch in my brain, making me go out and buy pretty much all of the Lush products. A recent festive (or maybe not so festive) addition to my collection is the Bar Humbug bubble bar.

You all know I’m a massive bubble bar fan, I’ve raved about them for long enough now but this is the first non-sickly sweet scented piece I’ve bought. Bar Humbug really reminds me of those 1p black jack sweets you used to get, you know back in the day where a 10p mix up actually contained 10 different sweets in. I don’t think you can get them anymore, but for me this bubble bar screams liquorice and blackcurrant scents.
Bar Humbug contains cleansing bergamot oil & fennel oil which you can feel literally as soon as you dip your toe in the bath. The purple water feels beautifully moisturising and being surrounded by a load of glittery bubbles, well for me, you just can’t get better. The glitter makes your pamper night feel extra festive so even though it’s called Bar Humbug, it’s actually really Christmassy! So far I’ve used this in three baths & I still have a little amount left over so I think if you were being extra strategic with Bar Humbug you could probably get 5 baths out of it, which I think is flipping brilliant value for money seen as though the product costs £3.65.

Have you tried Bar Humbug before? What’s your all time favourite Lush bubble bar? Pop your answers in the comments below, I’d love to know.

Fashion | The Camel Coat.

Okay, so here’s another party I’m late to… The camel coat! Over the last few months I’ve been very strict with myself & have only bought classic pieces and clothes that I know I’ll wear for years to come. Something I felt I was lacking in my wardrobe was a sophisticated long line coat, so when that sneaky black Friday weekend came around, I knew that I had to get one. I’d had a quick browse online and decided that this Missguided number would be absolutely perfect!

I’d opted for this oversized camel number because as soon as I saw it, I could instantly imagine the type of outfits I wanted to wear it with.  I’m wanting to create more of a capsule wardrobe so this idea of a multifunctional coat really appealed to me. It’s a fabulous fit, oversized enough to fit over a few layers (it’s getting cold now, don’t you know) and super snuggly warm to get wrapped up in. I absolutely love it!
I wanted to let my coat do the talking today so Claire being Claire, I’ve opted for an all black everything outfit. I don’t know what it is, but there’s something about this colour pairing that just screams sophistication to me. I love the click clack of heeled boots too with an outfit like this…. It’s safe to say I’m feeling like a boss lady!

What do you think of todays outfit? How would you have styled this long line coat?

Fashion | Wrapping Up Warm For Winter.

There’s no doubt about it, Winter is absolutely freezing here in the UK... I’m getting cold just thinking about it. Not only are we hit with a sudden fall in temperature, but we’ve also got torrential downpours and the blustery winds to deal with too. An outfit worn this time of year needs to be seriously practical & if it’s stylish too, well that’s a bonus!

The first thing I think about when planning an outfit around this time of year is ‘how many layers can I cram under my coat today?’ Well with this one, it’s about fifty thousand! This parka has literally been glued to my back for the last couple of months. It’s my dog walking coat, going out coat, dinner with friends coat, going to work coat… And so on and so forth, you get the drift don’t you! There’s so many styles like this available on the high street right now, this one however I picked up in Next a few years ago & it’s safe to say I’ve well & truly gotten my moneys worth out of it.
Along with my trusty parka I’ve been reaching for my bargain Timberland boots quite a lot  recently. They’re comfortable, sturdy & most importantly keep my feet warm and dry. I suffer quite badly during winter with chilblains on my hands & feet so finding a good pair of winter boots is a pretty big thaang for me! Just to make sure I’m extra toasty I’m popped on my black gloves & Zara tartan scarf. If you were to buy anything as a stocking filler this year, I absolutely urge it be a Zara scarf. I wouldn’t shop anywhere else for them now, they’re super soft, warm & cosy, and not to mention absolutely huge!

Primark had some super cute knitted hat, gloves & scarf sets that were on at half price so I think I’m going to pop in and pick some up, because I absolutely love getting wrapped up warm for winter. How have you been embracing (or not so embracing) the colder weather we’ve been having?

Beauty | Lush Candy Mountain.

Something I think all us beauty bloggers look forward to at this time of year, is the arrival of the Lush Christmas range! Something not new, but new to me is the Candy Mountain bubble bar… Or what I’d like to call a sparkly princess poop.

I’m a massive bubble bar fan, don’t get me wrong I love a bath bomb too, but for me bubble bars are  so much more worthwhile. They’re much more cost effective (and at this time of year, every penny counts) smell absolutely divine & fill your bath with a boat load of bubbles…. And for me that’s exactly what I’m looking for in a nice relaxing bath, the more bubbles the better!
Candy Mountain is probably the girliest & most princess like bubble bar available from Lush which is initially what drew me to the product. Then came the scent! The mix of sweet vanilla & candy canes means this has to be one of my favourite Lush products of all time, we all know I’ve got a super sweet tooth & am a complete sucker for anything candyfloss scented… Snow fairy, I’m looking at you! It’s such a shame Candy Mountain is only available for the festive season because I flipping love this product!... And it’s such a steal at only £2.95! I’ve managed to use the bubble bar for three separate baths, all of which have pretty much overflowed with bubbles (in a good way of course) so I think it’s safe to say I definitely got my moneys’ worth with this product!

What’s your favourite product from the Lush Christmas range? I’m definitely going to have to stock up on this bad boy, I absolutely love it.

Beauty | The Body Shop Glazed Apple Shower Gel.

Following on with the festivities, it’s only right to kick the second day of #Blogmas off with a Christmas treat in the form of The Body Shops’ glazed apple shower gel... Oh and my little Owl friend.

I really wish this little guy had a name! I want to call him Owlie, but I know that’s totally lame. God help me when I have kids, they’ll definitely be getting picked on for the names I pick out. He’s a cutie though who totally brightens up my bathroom - If we have guests staying they’ll always comment on him. He’s a bit of a dafty, but If you can’t have fun at Christmas, then when can you? He’s fab!
Now onto the actual product itself, enough about Owlie! I haven’t met a product yet from The Body Shop that I haven’t enjoyed & the glazed apple shower gel is no exception. The product lathers really quickly & once it’s on either Owlie or my bath lily (depending on what takes my fancy that day) a little really goes a long way! The 250ml bottle is definitely going to last me a long time, I’ve been using this product for just over a week now & I’ve barely made a dent in it, so I can see this product lasting me well past Christmas. Of course the scent is predominantly apple based however there are notes of vanilla and candy floss, which pretty much make this the best smell in existence! No joke. It’s flipping beautiful! The product leaves you with a really fresh, zingy feeling meaning it’s ideal for using on a morning before work. For me, it’s the perfect wake me up shower gel... And one I would definitely get out of bed for!

Have you tried anything from The Body Shops’ glazed applerange? Also, if you have any Owl name recommendations I’d love to read them in the comments below.
