Beauty | Autumn Lips

Following on from my Autumn Nails post, I wanted to talk to you guys about my fave lipstick choices for the season. I don't know about you, but I always think nail & lip colours alter dramatically as the seasons change, for me it's one of the first things I notice. I'm even thinking of doing a quarterly post, one for how lips & one for how nail colours change... So watch this space!

The first colour that springs to mind as soon as Autumn comes around is a deep, dark, vampy purple... And you don't get much purpler than Makeup Revolutions' Make It Right! I absolutely adore this shade, and surprisingly it gets better the longer it's worn. On application Make It Right is a very intense, dramatic purple however as the day goes on, it wears off slightly to reveal a gorgeous, subtle mauve shade. Makeup Revolution have seriously upped their game when it comes to their lipsticks formula, and at only £1 I think this product is absolutely amazing!

Again going down the vampy route is Maybellines' Superstay 10hr Tint Gloss in the shade Timeless Plum. The tint gloss provides (as the name suggests) a beautiful sheen of colour to the lips which has amazingly fantastic staying power! The doe foot applicator is super easy to use, one quick swish over the lips and your makeup look can be totally transformed. Out of all the five colours today, I want to say that this one is my favourite... Burt I can't decide!

Something a little easier to wear is Revlons' Colorburst Matte Balms & I have the shade Sultry, a rosey mauve colour. I love the simplistic chubby stick style applicator because it makes the application process super duper easy. The colour is amazing too, it's a very versataille shade and can easily be worn during the day or for evenings out. The formula is very creamy & feels super nourishing on the lips which is exactly what you want at this time of year.

Okay, so maybe this one's my favourite? I really can't decide. I've used these Mabelline Superstay 24hr Lip Colours for years now... I want to say over a decade? But that makes me feel really old. I love the way the matte formula looks on the lips and it's true what they say about this one, the colour literally doesnt budge all day! The product is dual ended, so one side holds the colour & the other has a nourishing balm to finish the look.

Something a little higher end is Macs' Syrup. We all know that Mac lipsticks are amazing don't we & this lustre shade is of no exception. I'd class Syrup as a nude lipstick however because it has a deeper mauve undertone I think it's really wearable and absolutely perfect for Autumn. I find a lot of nude lipsticks don't compliment my skin tine that well, but I really do like this one!

What do you think of my five Autumn lip shades? Have you got somehting you'd really recommend?... I'm looking to expand my lipstick collection, not that I need any excuses.
