Fashion | Fat Face Hemsley Dress

A little while ago Fat Face challenged me to style their ever popular Hemsley* dress in two opposing ways, one for a beautiful summers day & the other for an evening out. The Hemsley* dress has been one of Fat Faces' most popular items over the last few years & has been given a bit of a refresh for Summer 2015 with some gorgeous new prints added to the line. I decided upon this beaut navy blue Bandana print.

As soon as the dress I arrived the first thing I noticed was the quality! The dress is made up of a really thick material & has a beautifully lined underskirt making sure you're kept quite toasty throughout the day. The straps are adjustable meaning you could wear the staps crossed over or cinched in, it's a super duper wearable & versatile piece. But my favourite thing is that the Hemsley* dress has pockets!! This dress has freakin pockets!! Please tell me it's not just me that gets excited over these things.? Please!

For a casual daytime look, the first thing I wanted to do was to pop on a pair of comfy flats & how amazing are these ones! The very aptly named Willow* shoes are going to be making a regular appearance on the blog I'm sure! I love how wearable & comfortable they are, they'll go with just about everything which is amazing. To match the shoes I've accessorised with my favourite acessory colour... You guessed it! Tan! I friggin' love tan accessories. To be honest the barrel bag is just about on its way out, but I love it too much to throw it away, If you know of any alternatives I'd love to hear them.

To transform this dress into more of an evening look I wanted to switch up the strap situation & alter the dresses silhouette. I detached the straps and tied them in a halterneck position as well as undid a couple of buttons. It's strange how such a little alteration can make the dress look completely different. As soon as i put the dress on this way I felt like a 50's pin up, minus the boobs of course, but it made me want to pop some rollers in my hair and fill my arms with tattoos. Anywho!... As always, I reached for my trusty nude clutch & tan sandals & away I went. I've come to realise that I don't actually own that many pairs of heels, I could do with having a night of internet shopping I think!... That's gonna be my plan tonight.

What do you think of the Hemsley dress, which look do you prefer? I can't decide. PS. Fat face have currently got the Flamingo print Hemsley in the sale.

  1. What a gorgeous dress, and so versatile! I love both looks you've created. An evening of online shopping is an evening well spent in my book, haha. xxx - natural beauty, affordable fashion, everyday life
