Fashion | Colour Blocking Cigarettes

There's something about being completely skint that really makes you reevaluate your wardrobe. I honestly can't remember the last time I treated myself to a new pair of boots or a lovely new top (boo hiss!) however, because of this I've put together oufits that I'd notmally have thought wouldn't go together, and made much better use of my wardrobe.
Who would put bright pink cigarette pants with a mint green cropped jumper?... Erm, hello?

All these items I've had in my wardrobe for a really long time, and I've had really good wear out of them (especially that coat - it's fricken amazing) but I've never actually worn the pieces together. I'm not sure what crossed my mind to piece the two colours together - I think pairing differently hued colours, like these super bright cigarette pants and light pastel top can sometimes look a bit skewiff, but this pairing I actually quite like. Well, I really like it actually - I've got a bit of an urge now to do a little victory dance. Woohoo!

I picked the cigarette pants up on a trip to London last year, me and my sister did a day enjoying Oxford Street as well as a trip to the Harry Potter studios - I'd very much recommend both! It was an amazing weekend. The sweater/shirt combination usually gives an outfit a smarter edge however because the knitwear is cropped I think it still feels quite casual and comfortable. I actually prefer a cropped sweater with a shirt peeping through from the bottom, does anyone else remember being told to tuck your shirt in at school? Well look who's breaking the rules now!

I had a look through my old blog posts recently, and it seems I really love a good colour blocking outfit (who doesn't?) but what do you think of todays' colour choices?

    1. Thank you Em :-) I love finding little gems like this, two things you didn't think would go well together but actually really do. X
