Interiors | Moroccan Inspired Bedroom

If you're a regular reader of my blog you'll know that next week we'll be (eventually) moving house. Woohoo!.. And with a new house comes that ridiculously exciting task of interior decorating. Even more woohoo!
Being a qualified Interior Designer, it sounds strange but I've found it sooo difficult to come up with ideas for our home. I find designing interiors for clients so much easier than deciding upon a design for myself purely because I'm so picky - I'm literally the worst customer! I'm narrowing it down though, slowly but surely - Here's a room I'm certain on.

Welcome to my Moroccan inspired bedroom.

In the flat we're living in currently our bedroom is half way there to being Moroccan themed, so we don't need to fork out and arm & a leg to complete the desired look. We have the vast majority of trinkets however because our current landlady doesn't allow us to wallpaper or paint the walls, the look isn't totally complete. We're (I say we, but it's my way or the highway lets be fair) planning on making a feature wall with this fantastically printed Julien Macdonald wallpaper(1) & painting the surrounding three walls in Valspar's mystic mocha(6) to keep the space light & airy. The rest of the items we already have which is a massive bonus for our bank accounts

1. Julien Macdonald Jewel Wallpaper
2. Homes Direct 365 Black Lacquer Storage Box
3. Royal Furnish Elephant Throw
4. Yellow Sunrise Hanging Lanterns
5. George Home Purple Bedding
6. Valspar Mystic Mocha
7. The Range Candle Holder
8. Argos Normandy Bedside Cabinet

What do you think of this look? I'll be posting before & afters in the next couple of weeks.

  1. Love the feature wallpaper and those hanging lanterns are gorgeous! I'm lusting after lots of things from Anthropologie! Can't wait to see your finished results. :) I've just signed up for an online interior design course as I think it's the direction I want to go, in terms of career, so any advice is very welcome! xxx

    1. Beautiful aren't they! I can't wait to move in now & get started. Aw that's amazing!! The only advice I could give is to get as much experience as possible & don't let other people alter your creative ideas - If you want to do something go ahead & blooming do it. Let me know how it goes, it sounds brill!! X
