Fashion | Pink & Gold

Even though the weather hasn't been majorly up to scratch here in Leeds, I've been really feelin the Summer vibes. The weather's got a complete mind of its' own down here, it changes literally hour by hour, so you really need to be prepared for the worst when you're setting off for work on a morning... Today however, I'm feeling particularly risky!

It's not very often that my pasty white pins come out, but when they do I'm always wearing a midi. I don't feel comfortable in mini skirts any more or teeny tiny skater style dresses, I'm just not down for having that much of my flesh on show. I feel much classier in a midi, and now I'm getting older (not that 24 is that old) I think this style will see me through for years to come.

Because the H&M midi skirt is a super girlie pastel pink with flecks of gold in I thought I'd pick these two colours & style my outfit from there. I really love the fit of this skirt, it's really structured & leaves me feeling all femenine & princess-like, all I need now is a diamond tiara!
Over the simple crisp white shirt (because I'v been loving a shirt recently) is a super old school Topshop bolero style hot pink blazer. I always forget I have this jacket, I seem to wear it to death & then forget about it for a few months, but now I'm fully back on the scene! I think the complete contrast in color shades works well together.
The shoes are new, but I think they're a love it or hate it type shoe. I'm still not sure myself to be honest, but there was something there, something that drew me to them, so I thought why the heck not... I'll only regret it later if I didn't snap these babies up!

This outfit is a tad out of my comfort zone I have to say (mainly due to the socks & sandals combo) but I think it's great to do that every now and again. Think outside the box & do something different. Life is way to short to be boring with fashion.

What do you think of todays look? Is there any styles you've been scared to try, but when you have you've completely loved them?

  1. Looking gorgeous as always! Loving the colour palette with this outfit. The skirt and blazer are gorgeous! I was scared to try loose printed trousers when they became popular, but they are such a comfortable yet stylish option! xxx
