Beauty | Nars Dual Intensity Eye Shadows

I don't own a great deal of high end make up, over the years I've found some cracking budget based cosmetics that I've really enjoyed using, but every so often I think I deserve a little treat. Something I treated myself to a little while ago are the Nars dual intensity eyeshadows.

Last year (how bad does that sound) I picked up the shade Phoebe (left) & Castillo (right), two beautifully intense lilac shimmer shades. I chose the two colours because purple tones really really bring out my green eyes - I once heard only 3% of people have green eyes, I don't know how true this is though? I'm pretty sure I know quite a few people who have green eyes.
The dual intensity range comprises of 12 shimmery pearl tones which can be applied either wet of dry (hence the name) depending on the look you want to achieve. For a sheer finish you'd apply the product as normal with a dry brush, however if you're wanting a more intense finish, dampen your brush before loading the product and you'll be set for a more high impact look. I find this works particularly well with a Mac 266 small angle brush and applying as an eye liner.

These are the first high end eye shadows I've actually purchased so safe to say, my expectations were high, especially at £21.00 per piece!
The formula of this product is brilliant & there's barely any fallout when applying which is really surprising with it being such a shimmery tone. I love the application process of these shadows, they're such intense & highly pigmented tones they apply like a dream! The formula blend really well too, both wet and dry & I found that the two colours work perfectly together - Phoebe works insanely well on the crease. The shadows staying power is brilliant, whether you're wearing them during the day or on a night out, you won't need to worry about them fading. They keep that intense punch of colour for a good eight hours, so an absolutely brilliant result in my books!
Packaging wise, would you expect anything less than perfection with Nars? The square box contains a miniature mirror and fastens shut with a reliable magnetic strip, it screams Nars & I absolutely love how it looks on my dressing table!
Reading this you may think I've fallen head over heels with these shadows, and I have to a certain extent, but these just one iddy biddy thing that keeps niggling away at me... And it's the price! I paid £42.00 for these two products, where a few weeks ago I paid £4.00 for a full palette from Makeup Revolution. I love them, but would I buy them again... I'm not so sure.

If you know of any dupes for for any Nars product then I'd love to hear them. I don't disgruntle them as a brand, I just wish they were more affordable.
