Beauty | 3 Valentines Lips

For me, working in a jewellery store it feels like it's been Valentines day for the past 4 weeks or so now, as soon as the Boxing day sales finished out came an abundance of the lovey dovey stuff - It was completely inevitable & just as equally inescapable! Now don't get me wrong, I'm all for a little bit of the mushy stuff, I've been with my partner for four years now and completely still feel in that 'honeymoon period' people talk about, but for me Mr St Valentine is a complete novelty & a guy who's out to make a little bit of extra money. It's cliche to say, but you shouldn't need one day out of the year to give you a kick up the backside & show your boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife that you love them... Dan & I are fully planning on lounging around in out pj's all day & totally making the most of the half price take outs Dominoes has got on offer - That's real love for you!

Anywho, get off your high horse Claire... Something I do love about the novelty of Valentines is getting to wear red toned lipsticks, whether it be bright & bold or deep & sexy - A red lip suits any skin tone & is always a winner in my books. With it being the 'big day' tomorrow I thought I'd show you my three favourite lovey dovey inspired lipsticks - I have three, because I simply couldn't narrow it down any further!

Rimmel lasting finish lipstick by Kate Moss - 107 (£5.49)
A firm favourite by bloggers across the community. The 107 is a super rich matte lipstick that gives such an intense burst of colour it's unbelievable. For me, this is my Grease Lightning lipstick, this lipstick will transform you from Sandy before Danny to Sandy very much after Danny! The revamp from plain Jane to sultry temptress is phenomenal as it instantly gives your lips that wow (wow wow) factor. Being a matte lipstick you'd think it would be quite drying on the lips, but this really isn't - It's smooth & velvety on application and feels really nourishing. The staying power with the 107 isn't the best, but I've found that with the vast majority of matte lipsticks, especially in bolder shades - I don't mind having the reapply this though because it's such a gorgeous colour, I can forgive you Rimmel. What I also love about this product is the branding, the Kate Moss lippies are so recognisable, I've often been given the nod of approval by girls who have spied me using this little red lovely. Girl power!!

Revlon colorburst matte balm - 225 Sultry (£7.99)
Another matte lipstick... Ooops! As a whole, I really don't think you can go wrong with Revlon lip products (I'd even push the boat out and say I prefer them to MAC lippies) they're probably my 'go to' brand when it comes to adding a bit of colour into my makeup routine - I think they're fab! I picked up the matte balm when it first came out, early last year & have been impressed with it ever since. The formulation of this product is so creamy & moisturising, it feels absolutely amazing on the lips. Because it's a chubby pencil too, it's a dream to apply, just one quick swish and you're ready to rock and roll! The shade sultry (how could I not include this on a Valentines day post with a name like that by the way) is much rosier than the other two I have selected, so I think this gives a much more youthful look & reckon it would work just as easily as a day date as it would for an evening out. For me sultry is such an easy shade to wear, no wear near as bold as the 107 however it still gives that punch of colour we're all looking for!

Soap & Glory sexy motherpuker - Charm Offensive (£7.00)
We all know I'm not the biggest lover of lipglosses, but anyone who's anyone knows the powers of the Sexy Motherpucker! This Soap & Glory 'cult product' plumps your lips to the next dimension making them look all luscious & full, I don't know how it works, but it bloody well works! And now with the addition of colour (I mean real colour) to the lip glosses there's just no stopping them! I love the illusion it gives of much fuller, bigger lips - and the shine is just incredible. These are real show stopper lips! Granted the formula is slightly sticky, which is my main bug bearer when it comes to lip glosses, but I can totally overlook that for the quality of this product! The longevity is brilliant too, it's the best out of all three - I can quite happily wear this all day & not have to worry. Love love love it!

I really can't pick just one, I'm sorry! I love all three. Whats your favourite Valentines inspired lipstick?
