Event: Paul Mitchell's Gift Of Style Featuring New Cid Cosmetics

I was beyond excited when my Inbox pinged with my first Leeds blogger event invitation last week. Since moving to the area last month I've been super psyched to throw myself back into blogging & meet lots more lovely ladies who share the same passions as myself... And with Paul Mitchell/New Cid Cosmetics, last Thursday I got just that opportunity!

I've used a few New Cid Cosmetics products however I didn't recognise the Paul Mitchell hair care brand (maybe I've been living under a rock) but after doing my research I knew I was in for an absolute treat!...

Upon my arrival I was instantly greeted by the lovely Sarah who offered me a glass of fizz & a selection of delicious canapes. Unfortunately I was driving & had to decline the Prosecco in exchange for a glass of fresh orange - I did however take full advantage of the pigs in blankets, spring rolls & mozzarella bites! Yum!
They also had displayed amongst all the yummy food a couple of new giftsets from their Holiday 2014 range. It was really nice having a sneaky peak into their up and coming collection... They seem to have something for everyone, whether you have coloured hair, damaged hair, you name it they've got it - All contained in the cutest arty styled packaging.

Before getting into the salon area there was a lovely little New Cid Cosmetics dressing table set up, displaying a wide range of products, from lip glosses, eye shadows & the most fantastic, fluffiest make up brushes. One thing I was really impressed with, with the cosmetics was the packaging! This may sound really sad, but the lip glosses had little mirrors on the side as well as an internal led light - Which is going to be super handy for traveling and when you're out & about. There's nothing worse than haphazardly applying your make up & it ending up all over your face. I found the products to be fabulously pigmented, in particular the eye products & lipsticks -I swatched a few on my hand and they were still going strong the next morning (I don't usually forget to scrub myself clean before going to bed - Ooops) So really impressed with them too! With regards to the blush and bronzers, they appear to be really glittery but once applied to the skin it's really not, so give them a go, they're pretty deceiving!

For the last couple of years I've been growing out a 'Frankie' cut and initially I only intended my hair to become shoulder length, but you know how it is, life gets in the way, I've forgotten about it & now it's pretty much boob length. I feel a bit stuck in a rut hair wise so it was absolutely lovely having my hair styled by two fab ladies from Padd Hair Studio. Almost immediately the girls recognised my hair type, how I keep it & sadly that I didn't know what to do with it (Booo!) Because I very rarely wear my hair up, they suggested a fishtail braid with a bit of added volume in the front & I absolutely love it! I'm in awe of how quickly this look was put together and will deffinitely be trying this out for myself. I'm probably going to fail miserably but it's the thought that counts right? To finish this look the ladies used the Freeze & Shine Super Spray which is a paraben free, colour safe hairspray. It smells delicious & kept my fishtail braid going strong until the following evening.

I had a fabulous night meeting fellow Leeds bloggers and was gifted with this amazing (and pretty heavy) Paul Mitchell & New Cid Cosmetics goodie bag. I can't wait to start trying these products, if the event's anything to go by they're going to be amazing!

Thanks for taking a look. Lots of love.

  2. How lucky! I've only recently heard about Paul Mitchell products and I'm looking forward to trying some. I was really pleased to discover that they are a cruelty-free brand! The CID products sound great. I've tried anything from them either although I did recently buy one of their cosmetics cases from TK Maxx which was an absolute bargain - £12.99 instead of RRP £65! Absolutely love your fishtail braid! I haven't figured out how to do them yet. xxx

  8. The New Cid cosmetics look gorgeous, particularly those blushers - they look similar to the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushers. I know my mum has tried some New Cid makeup and loved it.
