Beauty: Make Up Revolution Lipsticks. Luscuous/Cheer/Nude.

Last month I was lucky enough to be asked to do a guest post on Belle's blog Mascara & Malteasers. She's a gorgeous lady with a fabulous blog & I felt very privileged to have my input on it. I thought i'd share with you my post which revolves around some awesomely cheap lippies... Enjoy!

Since moving out from my parents’ house last year I’ve become such a thrifty shopper, not only with bills & other boring things like that but with my beauty routine too! I was recently made aware on twitter of Make-Up Revolution, an affordable range of beauty products with enough shade variations to suit a small (female) army. They have lipsticks and eye shadows starting from as little as £1.00 – That’s less than the cost of a magazine! With that analogy in mind I knew I had to give Makeup Revolution a try… I got carried away and actually bought 8 products (which only cost me £12.00) but today I will be talking about just three.

From left to right. Luscious - Cheer - Nude.

Makeup Revolution - Luscious (£1.00)
Firstly I have to say what an absolutely fabulous colour this is! I recently did a review of Revlons 'Kiss Me Coral' which is a pretty close colour match to this - Obviously the Revlon is packaged better & does apply slightly easier, but for £1 you absolutely can not go wrong with this! For the price I paid for this, i think this is brilliant, it applies easily enough & is very highly pigmented, which is always something I worry about with lippies. Granted i did have to reapply this a few hours later but in fairness, isn't this the case with most regular lipsticks?

Makeup Revolution - Cheer (£1.00)
I've seen this super girlie pink colour circling the blogsphere a lot recently... Although I must say that I'm slightly disappointed with this colour, it looks fab on the stick however applies really transparently (I'm pretty sure that's not a real word, but you know what I mean). I had to use several coats which left me lips feeling all gloopy, sticky & not nice basically. I see 'Cheer' as more of a hydrating glitter gloss rather than pigmented lipstick.

Makeup Revolution - Nude (£1.00)
Without sounding weird, I'm not normally a nude type of girl. Even at work & during the day i'll wear a bold lip however after trying this I'm a lot more tempted to tone it down a bit! My lips are naturally quite pale, especially when it's cold so  this would act as a much needed pick-me-up. Again like 'Luscious' this applies pretty easily & has a lovely creamy texture to it.

Out of the three I'd definitely say 'Luscious' was my favourite! I think with a £1 price tag though that all these lipsticks are fab. With these you have to go in with an open mind, obviously they arent going to have the same quality as your Macs or Revlons but for what they are I think theyre bloody marvelous!

Thanks for taking a look. Lots of love.

  1. Luscious is definitely my favorite as well.I'm not the biggest fan of a nude lip because it looks (to me) as if I'm not wearing anything, which I might as well not. :] // itsCarmen.com ☼
