Beauty: Essie - Licorice

Today I've learnt how to spell 'licorice'... For some reason I thought it had a 'q' in, and for ages I was convinced Essie had spelt it wrong - Low and behold (Duh!) I'm the one that's in the wrong! Licorice is in fact spelt licorice!

I've been after a dark nail polish for a while now, something not quite black but close enough & I've found that in Essie's Licorice. I should have known Essie would come up trumps in the colour department. They always do! At first glance Licorice looks black however on closer inspection is more of a really dark brown with a deep purple hue. It's a fantastic colour & one that is pretty easy to pull off - Bonus! Because it's so dark it only takes one coat and the fantastically thick formula glides on like a dream! It dries really quickly too & lasts for 5 days without chipping! Pretty good going if you ask me!
To accentuate the dark nails I've opted for Hearts of Brass & Pandora silver stacker rings. I love layering jewellery & these two brands are brilliant for doing just that!

Are you a fellow Essie lover like me?

Thanks for taking a look. Lots of love.

  1. I haven't done a dark nail in a long time. It's kind of the anti-summer color, which is cool. :] // ☼
