Beauty: Help Me Ban The Blemishes!

Todays blog is a bit of a cry for help... I need your advice ladies.
Just recently I've started developing small blemishes all around my face and they aren't limited to one section, it seems like on a morning I wake up bang there's another one.
And they're overstaying their welcome!

Naturally my skin is quite dry so i use moisturise regularly and that normally does the trick. Recently though I'd say I've been wearing a bit more make up than usual and think this is the cause of my blemishes.

This is my make up free face at the moment (rough I know). I never get spots or blemishes so I'm pretty down in the dumps at the moment about my current situation. I need your help! Ha.

Neutrogena is normally my go to brand when it comes to skincare... I swear by their Visibly clear 2 in 1 wash mask, it's a product I've been using for years and will continue to do so for years to come. I use it everyday as face wash and once a week use it as a face mask to give my skin the extra lease of life.

Today though I'm trying a couple more products Id been given samples of to see how they affect my skin.

Lush - Rock Star Soap.
Good old soap & water... That's what my Gran would be saying. Anyway, Lush is a cosmetics shop I love smelling as I walk past however I very rarely go in. I've used various Lush products I've been given as gifts and always been pretty impressed, the only thing I'm put off by is the price. They're not the most expensive cosmetics on the market, not by a long shot, but I still find and use cheaper alternatives. The rock star soap not only has a super cool name, but smells absolutely delicious, and packs my skin full of moisture again! I wouldn't say it'd affected my blemishes (although I have only used it once) but I would buy it again for the candy cane smell alone.

Bayliss & Harding - Steam Shower Cleanser
Bayliss & Harding isn't a brand I use very often, not for any other reason then them not being as accessible than other makes. The first thing I noticed about this product, as weird as it's going to sound, is how it came with a very woodlandy smell. My dad used to drag me and my sister out walking over the North Yorkshire Moors quite a lot when we were younger and this cleanser comes with that exact smell! I like it don't get me wrong but I can imagine it's one of those love it or hate it type things. It's a nice product and I'm glad I've tried it although I'd pick Rock Star over it any day of the week.

Maybe i need to do the age old trick of not wearing make up for a week or so, but I highly doubt that's going to happen. I wouldn't say I was particularly vain but i work in a customer based environment and don't fancy showcasing my bare naked face to hundreds of customers!

Any hints or tips would be greatly appreciated. I need all the help I can get!

Thanks for taking a look. Lots of love.

  1. You look perfect without makeup!! I have been using La Roche posay effaclar duo + and it is amazing it helps to clear up skin and fade acne scars! I have used that face mask in the past but unfortunately found it too drying for my skin! Hope the products help :) xx

    1. Aw wow. What a lovely thing to say. Thank you! You've made my day. Ha! Brill I'll definitely look into that further. Thank you for your advice! :-) X
