Baby Got Bangs

So then… Time for my first ‘proper’ blog, so here goes!

As promised in my previous introductory blog and as I’m sure you can tell from the title, I had bangs put in today. By bangs I mean a fringe. I’m not America, not even close, but bangs is fun to say, and it just rolls off the tongue!

Last time I had my hair styled this way was at least three or four years ago. I have quite a petite face (my boyfriend quite often calls me pip head) so I was a little nervous at first as to whether it’d swamp my face... I needn't have worried though, Emma at Urbane Hairdressers in Guisborough cut it perfectly! I've been seeing Emma since my early teens and she’s always been an absolute star!

Anywho... my two bargains of the week come from George at Asda and Peacocks. Two shops i never ever think to look in, and now two shops i think i'll be venturing into more often...

1. Peacocks oxblood textured scarf.
2. George at Asda Teal Sweatshirt

I'm a huge fan of layering especially during these freezing winter-almost-spring months and these two did just the job! I found the oxblood scarf hung up on the half price rail (always a bonus!) down from £8.00 to £4.00. It's a great scarf, got a lovely textured print that i can imagine wearing for many outfits to come. And secondly the sweatshirt... I had one of those hallelujah moments when i got to the till... Listed at £16.00 i didn't think it was too badly priced for a lovely thick sweater, but when it was scanned through the till it came up at £11.00! Total bargain! I love it when things like that happen! The colours great, its bold and bright, not to mention super cosy & comfy!

I own a lot of Geometric & simple shaped jewelry, I find them so easy to wear & love this over shirt combination. I'm wearing a half moon (or banana) here although any statement necklace or collar tips would work well with this look. Gold of course!

The rest of my outfit is pretty casual, my mid wash jeans from Miss Selfridge have been a wardrobe staple piece of mine since i got them a few years back. You cant go wrong with Denim in my eyes, whether it be denim jeans, denim jackets, denim shirts. Denim everything! I love an untucked shirt & sweater combination, and keeping it casual with my cabernet suede Puma sneaks.

I think accessories really make an outfit and I've teamed my half moon necklace with an old Matalan coral cocktail ring and lovely new gorgeous Vivienne Westwood bracelet. Gotta love Viv!

Also a little shout out to Essie! I was drawn to 'Mint Candy Apple' especially after I'd just bought the Teal Sweater. The two colours go brilliantly together. This is the first time I've used Essie and i must say I'm very impressed! It was really easy to apply, it did need two coats however a week and a half later it's still looking as good as new! Very impressed indeed compared to other high street polishes.

Thanks for taking a look. Lots of love.
